Hey guys its not cool just to rdm

The only thing in warmode that is exclusive to warmode is the ripple in space essence which is far from bis.

What rewards from warmode that are exclusive to warmode would people who dislike PvP would feel like they need to get?

The PvP bonuses can just be gotten from rated or random PvP

You’re missing the point: People who don’t want to PvP are forced to PvP to get some of the best PvE essences in the game, and War Mode is one of the ways to get Conquest.

I’ve never had to turn on war mode just to get a group for an elite world quest. And I’ve most likely done way more elite world quests than you have.

What you expect everyone in world pvp to 1v1 you? lol. Group up with others if you encounter a party.

That’s difficult when Alliance regularly outnumber us 6-to-1.

That’s a bit rich from a Horde poster, you guys outnumber so much that Alliance gets “Against overwhelming odds” every week

  1. Who outnumbers whom depends entirety on region/time zone. If you play late at night on the U.S. West Coast, for example, you’re staring down the infinite human wave of Alliance players from the Oceanic realms. (Who all get a massive bonus on top of being the dominant faction by far.)
  2. Alliance gets “against overwhelming odds” because Alliance complain on the forums so much that Blizzard throws them goodies to try and quiet them, not because of any actual data.

“Not because of any actual data”

Oh yeah i’m sure that Blizzard is conspiring against the Horde players and making this a thing, definitely not nonsensical argument at all. Not like Blizzard devs overwhelmingly play Horde or anything or have a history of poking fun at those who play Alliance

So then those people need to make a choice.
Benefit from the essences, or the benefit from staying out of WM. If they make their choice, they’ve made their choice. Don’t get me wrong, if Blizz can improve on the system, I’m all for that. I am, in NO WAY saying the current system is perfectI’m just telling it, like it is.

It kind of reminds me of this moment on “That 70’s Show” when Eric accused Hyde of stealing his Candy Land money. Eric’s father tells them to move the couch so they can bare-knuckle box to deal with the conflict. Neither of them wanted to fight. “If you’re not mad enough to bare-knuckle box, then you’re not mad!”

Blizzard’s developers and story team mostly play Alliance, according to people who work at Blizzard. (And the twitter accounts of everyone from Christie Golden to Chris Metzen <yes, I know he’s not with Blizzard anymore>).

Source? because that’s straight up false.

Blizzard deliberately bribes PvE players to engage in PvP; they’ve done it for years. Because they know that without PvE-focused players to prop up numbers, PvP participation would collapse, possibly to the point where it wasn’t viable anymore.

I agree with you that PvP should be kept for people who enjoy it. But that means that Blizzard should remove the exclusive bribes associated with it, ESPECIALLY the ones that are BiS for PvE content.

But they won’t do that, because they need PvE players to prop up PvP numbers. It’s awful for everyone involved, but they keep doing it.

So telling people “don’t PvP if you don’t like it” isn’t realistic, because Blizzard is deliberately making it so that they need to do it, even though they don’t want to.

For which part? Feel free to go to Metzen’s twitter and see pics of his Human Paladin that’s been his main character since the beginning.

Metzen went both ways, though Horde was still his baby with thrall and all that. I’m talking about modern day dev team, an overwhelming majority of them play Horde. The current lead dev holds it as a badge of honor that he hasn’t even once touched the Alliance side of play, for example. They tend to poke fun at Alliance at their blizzcon, not always but enough to make it notable. (the obvious big example being that time they allowed someone to cuss out the entire alliance faction on stage and say their players are the f word and so on)

I’m asking you for a source that backs up the dev team playing Alliance, not cherrypicking the one guy that was genuinely great and passionate for both sides. Don’t come with that one quote from the dev all the way back in wotlk either, that was back when Alliance was in its prime and not turned incompetent and having their leveling experience feel bad with loss after loss throughout cata and beyond.

It was back when they changed Undercity to no longer be Horde Territory, during Hallow’s End. People started in with their usual “this is because everyone at blizzard plays horde” and one of the blues replied that, actually, he and most people play Alliance.

Unless the quest text specifically stays that you must do it in warmode, then it’s still just a choice. Even if you feel forced to make that choice because everyone else is.

People don’t realize that Metzens two babies were Malfurion and Thrall. Dude loved both of these characters.

I agree that the current iteration of Warmode is dumb, but OP shouldn’t be mad about getting ganked with WM on. Don’t want to get ganked? Don’t play with WM on.

Also - we’ve got a few days till Sunday. This thread seems a bit early, yeah?

Its a very valid point you raise, tbh. I can’t disagree with that.

If you have WM on you signed up for any abuse you are given. It’s not supposed to be a “free” bonus, you either want to PvP (with all the entails) or you shouldn’t turn it on.
Posts like this are why the WM bonus shouldn’t exist.
