hey guys no matter what faction youre playing on if you see someone with war mode on for groups just questing away, THAT DOESNT MEAN THEY WANT TO BE TEAMED UP ON!!! seriously blizzard your pvp “system” if this joke of a gimmick is a system is broken and needs reworked. War Mode has been a joke since its debute.

If people didn’t want to be engaged in PvP, they wouldn’t turn War Mode on.
When you turn War Mode on, you are explicitly stating your willingness to participate in PvP.

you do realize that most elite quests you have to turn on warmode becuase everyone else is on, so the only way to be on the same layer is to turn it on
If you’ve got War Mode on, you are saying “I’m willing to accept the consequences of PvP, in exchange for faster leveling.”
One of those consequences is that high-level characters will one-shot you, or that teams of characters will go after you.
Leveling is fast enough already, anyway. Leave PvP for those who really want to do it.

The only groups listed for Mrrl’s taco item vendor is usually warmode so I pop to Org turn on warmode, jump back to Naz, go buy the item(s) and turn off warmode in Newhome. Never had to actually wPvP. I’m too busy to be fighting outside BGs.
That’s literally what it means. You flag yourself for pvp, YOU INVITE OTHERS TO ATTACK YOU. It’s that simple.

Having WM on does not give you a pass from PvP just because you want to quest.
If you don’t want others to harass you, turn off War Mode.
PvP happened with WM on.

You are right, Warmode is pretty bad right now because its a PvP system that grants PvE bonuses and rewards.
Warmode should have been designed with only PvP benefits such as killing players granting rewards instead of a generic X% increased XP/WQ rewards. That way only people actively wanting PvP would be in Warmode and those not looking to PvP would not be in Warmode.
