There were ground effects and environmental hazards in Classic dungeons. Thinking that there weren’t is just a product of 12 years of players playing the dumbed down versions post BC.
Modern WoW instances are all about M+ and esports setup. Player enjoyment is not a consideration any longer, unless you enjoy time pressure and toxic 12yo screeching about the io scores.
I dont get how dumbing down dungeons even more makes for a better game.
You keep saying that, but still you did not give an objectively accurate answer to any questions about it.
It’s just one of the many things people seem to forget about Classic dungeons during these conversations where they insist that they “weren’t hard”.
The saying you can’t have your cake and eat it too comes to mind. No, what you’re saying isn’t rocket science. Rocket science is very logical, you are not.
I’m pretty sure they did come to terms with the fact that there are players who do enjoy the way old dungeons worked… that’s why they released classic.
Now will you be able to come to terms with the fact that there are players who do not enjoy the way old dungeons worked?
I enjoy creating a strategy to beat the timer with my friends quite a lot.
What I do not enjoy is my raid leader screaming “that’s 50 dkp minus” because someone screwed up.
I’d definitely say they were more of a challenge because of how much had to go into the strategy of pulling trash, etc. And that definitely takes more skill than people mass pulling mobs in today’s dungeons.
I mean, we’re not talking old Magisters Terrace level, but it still took a lot more situational awareness and skill to kite trap, use all of the interrupts in a sequential manner to make sure all the things were interrupted, LoSing down hallways and around corners, etc.
We don’t see that type of teamwork nowadays on that level.
No kill order in mythic+, really? If you like bolstered minibosses in Shrine sure.
People who claim classic dungeon mechanics are harder or more complicated are in absolute and utter denial.
Nobody has made that claim. Literally nobody.
You bother reading the second part there buddy? Seems like you didn’t come to terms and think you’re opinion/likes are the only one.
We are going to keep getting requests like this and if blizzard is stupid they will listen to them and change the game. You have classic which will appeal to a different group of people than those who want to play the current game.
You change the current game so that the people who should be playing classic to get those fixes - blizzard will lose the player base of the current game.
Careful what you ask for.
Besides “CC that mob” or “don’t pull too many” there is no strategy at all, it is all about gear check. People don’t realize that people didn’t really now how to play the game, that’s why some things seemed way more difficult. All fights were basically patchwerk style.
This isn’t how m+ is done. At all.
Not asking that Mythic+ be changed. Literally the exact opposite of that statement.
I don’t think it’s about major changes. Just small things for normals and heroics that we only see in high key M+ now.
At least, that’s how I feel.
You are asking for this.
That is exactly the problem. Just go and play classic if you want classic style dungeons whatever you think that is.
Streamers are streaming classic right now (Since a stress test=advertising apparently and only streamers for the most part got in), it’s hardly working the way OP and the rose goggle crowd are claiming in this thread. They choose to CC, they don’t need to as many are breaking it, voiding its use and doing fine. They choose to pull slow, then pull another pack by mistake and do just fine. They are consciously choosing to do this stuff because that’s what the stigma is, then they are straying off and completing it just fine with out these tactics. I honestly can’t wait for classic to be released so we can quit with the cognitive dissonance.
If you want those things just do mythic plus. Normal and heroic are dungeons that are supposed to be easier. I really find it annoying that people who claim to want harder content refuse to do it and then want to change the easier content which eliminates content for another group of people who then will have no choice at all.
