Hey blizzard... can we have backpacks in wow?

you say it as if like i am suggesting of wearing a bag 3 times bigger than you…

i was only talking about like the appearance of the parachute bags they already have ingame.

My Nightborne is carrying around a beautifully crafted satchel made of Shal’dorei silk. It’s a simple thing but sturdy, with a gold length of cord to cinch it closed and embroidery that shimmered with light that wasn’t there.

She never did like to carry large, bulky items as it felt like it lent to a rather rude appearance, so she specified small dimensions to the tailor. Only big enough to cradle in one hand if she so chose, or tuck away in the folds of her robes. To the enchantress she expressed her need for enough space to comfortably accommodate a number of tomes and scrolls, and of course a bottle of arcwine. An impressive little work of craftsmanship, however expensive, but built to last through the ages. And last it did.

Basically, I don’t want no backpack. (I wouldn’t be against it for those who do, though!)

And that’s how you politely disagree with having it.

I’m gonna need one of those packs that people put babies in. And a hearthstone to Gnomeregan.

I know a goblin that can sell you a duffle bag, and I’m sure there’s a knife around here somewhere we can poke holes with.

What Rhielle said, I think he just means instead of a cloak as we know them today it would be a visual backpack.

Actually think that might be possible. The Tauren Heritage armor has that totem? And blizz did say they wanted to do more stuff like that. Quivers for hunters were specifically brought up.

Remember how blizzard said it was practically impossible for years, assured us that they would do it if they could, and then stuck it behind a personal info wall?

Foreshadowing “don’t you have phones?”

Remember these are the same devs that in 15 years haven’t been able to make tabards show correctly while wearing a dress, so don’t get your hopes up.

Actually it might be cool if we displayed a backpack on our backs when we opened our bags in-game. Like how we display a map in our hands when we open the map. There are already backpacks… there is one in Vol’dun that I’m thinking of specifically that you wear as a buff to summon a random Vulpera while fighting in the zone, and they could just use that for when you open your bags. Then you could cheese it by playing the game with one bag open.

Who pissed in your cheerios this morning? Nothing wrong with adding in a fun little cosmetic item like a bag. I’ve always wanted the option to have one of my toons carry a bag similar to one Ryu carries in Street Fighter artwork, anime movies, udon comics, etc. It would add to the adventurer flare to have a back back or a bag of holding of sorts visibly showing.

I hate backpacks. I don’t want my experience tainted by an object that isn’t relevant to the style of the game.

Mine better be shaped like a cat head!

So i am gonna say a few things.

1: you sound selfish for reasons of not wanting them because it’s your playstyle.
2: Fantasy setting wise, a lot of adventurers or even military folks, always had a bag or two for travel, even if they had magical portals.
3: It’s already in the game basically with the parachutes being basically backpacks that hold in a life saving piece of large fabric.

and finally, when i say backpack are you referring to a Medieval looking one that is made out of leather an so on, or the one right now that has stuff like spider man on it?
because you are making it sound like i am referring too our current irl bags…

But you guys finally got it! Success!

I have faith in our blue overlords.

And I am going to reply.

I HATE BACKPACKS and don’t want them in the game. I don’t feel they are relevant and would ruin the feel of the game. And I don’t care if military folks use bags, this isn’t the military or modern times.

Also, I think you are the selfish one here. You want to force an item on people who don’t want it just because you do.

How is it not relevant to the style of the game? We carry rockets on our backs for some quests. We carry bags on our backs for other quests. Hunters have quivers. We’ve carried demons around, too. Please explain why this is suddenly breaking immersion WHEN THESE THINGS ALREADY EXIST.

What does a purely cosmetic appearance-- that you aren’t required to use or get-- do to your personal gameplay? Don’t like it, don’t use it. But the idea of carrying stuff on our back isn’t new.

My opinion is as relevant as yours.

I’m asking for a OPTIONAL appearance, Not a forced appearance… you are saying no to it without giving a legit reason.

Optional does mean You are given a choice to wear it, you just don’t want to see it.

except she has more of a legit answer than you do.
so you hate it, don’t go for it, don’t ruin things that could be great for other people!
