Hey blizzard... can we have backpacks in wow?

Lol what? Becoming an adventurer again like we all want to be instead of a commander/champion/demigod? Get real OP. That’s called fun, and blizzard loves to nerf fun.

No idea. That’s what they were referring to.

I have my phone attached, haven’t received any calls.

Considering the sheer number of dumb looking short or tiny cloaks, I would absolutely love to see more backpack items. The totems that Highmountain gets for their heritage armor is awesome.

For immersion this is a fantastic idea. Besides just being cool, I think anyone that cares about the RP aspect of an MMORPG would love this option, especially the role players out there.

Oh look, the obligatory derisive off-topic post by someone who has no idea what CMs do.

Other games do this, too. Like Rift. And it’s an MMO that could have been just as successful as WoW.

Just because some game you don’t like does something similar, doesn’t mean it’s a bad idea. That’s just plain silly to think like that. And the link you posted has zero to do with what we’re talking about. We’re talking cosmetic transmog, not an actual bag.

Imagine all of the cool stuff they could do. Quivers for hunters. Large tomes and spellbooks for casters. There could even be one for rogues, a small pack with secret compartments that holds vials of poisons or little throwing knives-- or coins spilling out after they just relieved someone of their belongings.

Think outside the box! :slightly_smiling_face:

Except we’re not talking about an actual bag for bag space.

saw a panda npc monk trainer yesterday with a giant pack with kegs strapped to it and thought about how great it would be to have something like that on my monk. I fully support this idea - god knows I have enough plain cloak options.

I was thinking more down the lines of those fur things the Stark’s from Game of Thrones wear. The cape and shoulders are just getting more and more unpractical, so much that a lot of the NPC’s seem to have stopped wearing them altogether. I think I might make a thread about this.

Quivers, backpacks, totems, wings, banners, etc. They would give us great customization options. New sets could be much more interesting. As I’m thinking of ideas, I want a net backpack with half a mechagnome in it (a la Chewy and C3PO).

I don’t like backpacks in real life, so I certainly don’t want to see them in WoW. Besides, they don’t fit into the atmosphere at all.

But since we are on the subject of backpacks, I just don’t get the whole reason for them for everyday use. What items are so necessary for people to take around with them at all times that they need a huge backpack for it? Everything I need to have with me when I go out (billfold, keys, chapstick, cell phone) fits into a small purse. What are you people lugging around with you?

well…
This is not real life, and we play as a character who is a adventurer/commander apparently.

and that involves Carrying our luggage around, hell even soldiers today have bags that carry there gear as well.

plus the right bag can make you look great.

I carry a teeny cross-body purse but I have a larger bag with all the “stuffs” that goes back and forth from work. My coffee in the hydroflask can’t fit in my tiny bag. And umbrella (Hawaii drizzles a lot).

Of course all gets changed around depending on they day’s mission. Grocery shopping or just getting nails done.

Bag sizes matters.

With all that said, I don’t really need to lug around a backpack or purses in-game. If I could open a virtual one-bag in the air IRL then it would be perfect. No luggage traveling. Doraemon’s dokodemo door.

We are adventurers, not army personnel. And we have hearthstones that instantly take us back to our Inn of choice. So, no, we do not have to take luggage or bags around with us.

Alright, by that logic.

Get rid of yer bags ingame

We don’t actually “carry” our bags around in game. They are virtual bags, holding virtual items. They are not considered luggage or other “real” storage any more than the bank space is.

No, no. The bags are perfect as is. They’re accessible anywhere on your UI, they take up no space on your character’s body, they don’t weigh a thing.

We LIKE our bags/bank access just the way it is.

Not everyone here is a teenager with a backpack attachment. We don’t need a visual cosmetic backpack in-game.

Than what’s you’re deal?

you won’t get rid of your virtual bags for the reasons you listed.
and yet you don’t want a optional appearance for a backpack.
what is the deal with having the option to wear one?

just using her excuse to why not have Bags in the first place.

Thank you! I see some of the “younger” people at work lugging in huge backpacks every day, but I have yet to see anyone actually take something out and use it. It’s some kind of weird fashion accessory or something.
