Yes, it could. Ironically I think the people that would “riot” are most likely not the people you are thinking of.
Its very anti war, anti military.

I wasn’t talking about the “theme”. I am thinking of the language… and certain scenes. When it was made, it was very popular because society at that time was far less sensitive. If I quoted just the barracks scene here, I would get banned for life
While it’s putting it kindly to call his odd idea far-fetched, it seems pretty obvious that he presented it simply to bandy some ideas around…and there is nothing wrong with that, especially since it’s on the story forums.
He also called you out in this thread for effectively putting words in his mouth…which really, you kind of are. Is there a reason you felt that need?
Society was just as sensitive. Just in other ways. Heaven forbid you question a man’s masculinity or sexuality for example.
Today many aspects of society are sensitive to anyone not pro military/pro war.
Yeah, was returning the favor from another thread where I was on the receiving end. In the end, everyone is entitled to an opinion… even yours.
Eye for an eye is not a great philosophy.
True. And most words got ignored as “offensive”.
Hey, Golden rule. You want to be left alone, leave others alone. Some of us sip coffee while getting even.
Thats not the golden rule at all.
Its one of the first thing we teach children not to do.
I’m glad you see it that way. One of the very few ways of awakening beast mode in me is attempting to hinder conversation and the exchange of ideas…which coincidently, is the very purpose of these forums.
I would never hinder. I would disagree. Then they accuse me of being dismissive. Disagreeing with someone is fine. In fact, it is encouraged. Sadly, some folks are so insistent on being right, they will keep glossing over your point and re-explaining their own. We are all guilty of it, and only seem to call out others when it happens. At least I own up to it.
