So I was looking at the gear tracks and Heroic track doesn’t seem to fit. Champion almost goes up to the same ilvl and Mythic is way better.
The fix I think that would be beneficial to everyone would be to extend Heroic 2 levels to ilvl 632 and Runed crests should upgrade gear to 626.
Then Mythic track gear should start at 629, end at 642 and gilded crests would start at 629.
This would make Heroic track gear and runed crests less negligible while not having to reduce the effectiveness of Mythic gear or nerfing Champion track.
I’m “slow gearing” an alt army. I do this by putting in the minimum effort per week consistently for an alt. How I do this is I do the highest key I can once per week.
I can take a fresh 80, grab some WQ gear and jump into a +3 to get a heroic piece in my value.
This seems like it is too rewarding imo. But I won’t complain because I want to have my alts ready to go for dungeons when I finish my main and want to switch. Which it might be time to start focusing on my monk. I think he’s ready for +10s.
Even if they made hero go to 8 upgrades, why would runed crests go to hero 6? Every crest type goes to 4/x except for Gilded crests, because there’s nothing higher.
I wasn’t as worried about what the current standard is.
My thought process is that runed crests are the crests reward doing heroic content so heroic gear for the most part should be upgradable with runed crests.
Bring champ to 613, makes way more sense. Then there’s a 13 ilvls difference between max champ, max hero, and max myth respectively and a hero piece is strictly better than a champ piece regardless of if you can acquire gilded crests or not.
I never thought about that, but it is a bit strange that lower track gears have 8 upgrades. Although I kind of understand the intention, I don’t think it is necessary.
I think it would be fine if all tracks are standardized to 6 grades next season.
I think they should have kept each tier at 6, and just split it at the 3 mark. Which would leave:
Mythic - 623, 626, 629, 633, 636, 639
Heroic - 613, 616, 619, 623, 626, 629
Champion - 603, 606, 609, 613, 616, 619
Veteran - 593, 596, 599, 603, 606, 609
Adventurer - 583, 586, 589, 593, 596, 599
Explorer - 573, 576, 579, 583, 586, 589
There’s no reason adventurer gear is currently 81 ilevels at it’s lowest from the top, it’s just silly. This would put it in a much better spot. Sure, it means less elitism, because each tier only has 6 and is halfway covered by the one below it, but it’s also so consistent and smooth and elegant this way.
In fact, I also believe Crafted gear should NOT be only 3 ilvl lower than max Mythic as in the current state, it should be 6 ilvl lower, so Max crafted should be 633.
Mythic should be kept as the absolute end game gear to chase and pursue with a significant ilvl difference and there fore a noticeable result when using max Myth.
I have several crafted pieces and as for now, I could care less if I fill vaults with 10’s, I could stop playing for 2 weeks, come back and grind enough crests to craft my last pieces and be 635, which at that point there is no point in playing lmao. that is the effect of high ilvl c rafted pieces on the playerbase in general.
