Indeed, I’m assuming that is the reason why I said “probably.” Sorry for that, it was just an opinion.
Anyways, this “increase” of ilvl happened in other new seasons, like the previous Season 4 in Dragonflight.
Usually, every new season are increased the ilvl reward in the different ways to get armor, as this Wowhead article mentions about The War Within case.
