Herod, real talk

Been wondering about this myself.

For me, it’s just the commitment. I logged into queues with buggy character creation problems to reserve the names I wanted. I don’t want to lose those names, to be frank, and I shouldn’t be forced to because of Blizzard’s lack of foresight.

If they had started off with more than three options for EST PVP it would have been a different story.

What’s so special about it is that the LA players picked Thalnos (and all the NA players generally dislike playing with them due to the language barrier) and the big streamers (Asmongold, Staysafe, etc) all collectively picked Faerlina to unleash their cult of personality on.

That basically leaves one EST PVP server, Herod.

If we had more options at the get-go, the situation would have been mitigated to some degree, if not substantially.

Hmm since there’s so many posts about Herod I think i’ll roll there too instead of Mankrik. Just cuz

You know nothing until you have waited 18+ hours to log in for Wild Star  5 hours is nothing.

Perhaps the posts threatening streamers if they played on Herod and telling South Americans they weren’t welcome on Herod so they should play on a different server and then telling LGBTQ folks to play on a different server…so yeah…it will probably end up as a toxic community as long as you let the a$$hats that think they can decide who gets to play on Herod and who doesn’t become the server leaders.

We actively tried to recruit on the server and managed to end up with somebody with an actual Waffen-SS avatar as an applicant, so that’s a great start for Herod in general.

I don’t care how cool ironically rocking a national socialist avatar is these days, that still doesn’t fly during my watch.

I literally left Emerald Dream to get away from people quoting genuinely quoting from Mien Kampf, and I certainly don’t want that kind of stuff on my classic server.

Maybe Stalagg is the better option after all.

Yiiiikes.

Honestly there will probably be people like that on all servers though. The internet/anonymity is a helluva drug.

I’m with you. I really am.

It’ll solve itself to a degree. People who find the wait intolerable will leave, and everyone who stays has implicitly indicated that they find the wait acceptable, and preferable to rolling on a different server.

I think Blizzard should have given more notice for Stalagg, so that Herod folks who wanted to try to get the same names there would have had more notice to compete for a name there. There might be another server by launch, though it seems like Stalagg has stabilized at medium, so maybe not.

Keep in mind that is medium with just name reservations.

There are potentially thousands of people who are still unsubscribed and are willing to play classic at launch. Name reservations are not a good enough indicator. For all we know the people who do end up coming back end up rolling on Stalagg and we’re just caught with our pants down again with another server with queues.

Cuz I am on Whitemane.

Everything your wrote is true. But note that’s why I said “by launch”, and not “after launch.”

Eh. I removed my name reservation from Herod. I will see what happens on launch day but if the pvp server is as overcrowded as they say, it wont be fun playing there even if I do get past the queue.

If the ping wasn’t so bad I’d roll on OCE.

You guys are far and away my favorite people to play with, outside of my regular core group of friends.

We already got enough on stalagg anyway, I don’t want queues there!

Look at the population in EST + CST.

Compare that to the population in PST + MST.

That’s why there are more EST servers.

This seems like karma to me. I mean with all the manufactured hysteria, bigotry, and out right hateful posts of the people claiming Herod was the “people’s realm”, it seems like poetic justice now that it has the most toxic community and will have hours long queue. You reap what you sow.

Wow! This really made me laugh! The east coast has over TWICE the population as the west coast. something like 100 mil to 50 mil but hey your in california the center of the universe FFS! lol

That has never happened and won’t this time. If you are in a special situation where player names are important, then you have to do work to prepare players for login queues and wait out until other people get fed up and transfer.

The upside is that the tourists will leave Herod on Day 1. The downside is that the queues you get on Day 2 are going to representative of a good chunk of your Phase 1 experience.
