Herod, real talk

Fair enough. Just hope everyone is as level headed as yourself and respects they have been given 10 days of notice and to not complain on launch if they are unable to login for days on Herod.

It’s not a transfer option. It’s a “delete the toons you made on day one and make new ones on this new server we opened where all the names are already gone and all that time you guys took off or scheduled around is for naught.”

If it were a transfer option with guaranteed name retention, people would do it. But that isn’t what’s on the table.

Are the streamers considering moving out of Faerlina since that is also a ‘full’ server now? Who really wants to wait 30 min in queue just to login?

Asmongold go to Stalagg.

HA HA HA. Well, I do, too…but we both know that ain’t gonna happen. Make some popcorn, boys, it’ll be a show.

perhaps you haven’t been to their discord, which has over 3,000 people

Only Herod is of concern. Blizzard made no mention today regarding any of the other FULL servers as they are nothing in comparison to the population of Herod.

What YOU think doesn’t matter.

If the queues are too long, then we’ll get off Herod.

Nothing YOU say here can convince us otherwise at this time. We will keep our Herod characters until we see for ourselves that the queue is unbearable.

I hope for you and your friends’ sake they do end up providing free character transfers a month or two down the line if things don’t improve.

It just gets harder and harder to jump ship the more time you invest into the character, and without server transfers I think a lot of small communities will break as people just quit instead of rerolling.

Leveling in vanilla is a commitment…

Naw, they’re committed to Faerlina. They all realize their swarms of followers will die off after a few weeks, and it will just be them and the core community.

I want to play on the private server tryhard server. More competition, more fun.

Got me there, I was unaware of that. Still though, it may boil down to having a preferably named toon you cannot play, to one w/o your first choice that you can. Again though, I’m on the outside of this so I admit I cannot totally relate, only that I would prefer the playing to the waiting.

You know, we almost chose Whitemane, and a lot of us wish we had, but what’s done is done, and Blizzard has offered no consolation and no real option. If we leave, we lose, and that’s just not something my folks are prepared to do…and I cannot fault them for it.

We’ll see how everyone feels after we’ve had to play temp toons on other servers for three days. Until then, we’re staying put.

Hey man, live your truth.

I’m just saying that we know these things for certain, based on the blue post today:

Many players, maybe not yourself, would be better suited to take action with their groups now than trying to coordinate a move after some people have already put time into their characters. It becomes a LOT harder to do at that point.

This doesn’t work because many people will apply it to other players. It is always easier to say that the other person needs to go and me stay because I have done more.

The problem with Herod was there from the go.

Many people followed forum-driven hysteria and convinced themselves that rolling Herod was the only way to play the game. Faerlina and Thalnos were supposedly going to be hellholes due to streamers and a few brazilian players respectively, so they went and dug a hellhole for themselves.

Which is pretty funny because now the anti streamer/SA purists are all on a boat that’s going to sink hard on launch day, while everyone else will parobably get a better experience.

What an odd use, and non use, of punctuation and capitalization.

This is funny, because of irony. Herod was player-designated as the “anti-streamer” server to protect players from the instability that streamers inflict. Whoops :stuck_out_tongue:

Fair. Some players are more stubborn than others, and nothing will change that. Doesn’t mean more reasonable people can’t take action now, though.

If every person who created a thread about the Herod population was moved to a different realm, the problem would be solved.

If you know there will be a problem, why not just roll on another server and avoid the problem… what’s so special about Herod?
