Thank you! Mystery solved (not that I was seriously trying to find the answer lol)
I had same issue with tier sets in the past. Forcing me into spells I donât usually take or else I just donât get a bonus. Pretty lame.
The elemental shaman rotation has got to be the worst. They mine as well call it fire shaman. Making lava burst the face of elemental was a mistake.
The only thing going for destro to not be called fire mage 2.0 is the fel touched quest that turns your fire spells into fel green.
I want to cast lightning spells on my shaman not spam flame shock and lava burst.
Itâs fine, Hellcaller is just better. You can accomplish exactly what you laid out as Hellcaller, just that Malevolence is a better tool for what Affliction wants to do.
Its one of the things that has put me off playing warrior.
Yeah but what an unfortunate way to view talents. itâs suppose to be a way to make your character feel bigger and better as you level up. Removing the reward from leveling is just a feel bad thing. talents should be for everyone not just the few.
You can lead a horse to water but you canât make em drink. If someone refuses to engage with hero talents, itâs not the systems fault.
It has nothing to do with the top 1%. Just because somebody doesnât do end game at a competitive level doesnât mean they donât use effective rotations. Most everybody tries to play their class effectively.
How I would have done it:
If a Hero Talent affects a spell, it gives you that spell for free.
Then if you pick the regular Talent that gives you that spell, then you get an additional boost to that spell thatâs not affected by the Hero Talent.
For example: Archon should give you Halo. And then you get to choose whether you want to take the Halo talent for an additional benefit to Halo thatâs independent from Archon, or something else.
And they do, you are just complaining about how thats done.
This is irrelevant. Leveling in TWW takes like 4 hours.
They are, but I hate to break it to you. If you donât raid, m+ or pvp, that leaves world mobs for you to smack around. And they donât take much to do that. If you wanted to âfeel strongerâ or whatever THAT means, why wouldnât you just take the best talents?
This just feels insanely clunky considering there are often nodes connected to those talents that are essentially part of the package for the ability.
Like youâd never take Soul Rot without taking Malign Omen but the only way to get Malign Omen is to go through Soul Rot. The end result is you gotta take Soul Rot regardless and Blizzard would just balance the ability around being 2/2.
That is kind of sad as well.
I mean lava burts can be fun I also like using other spells as well.
Idk, I just feel like they gutted Shamanâs at the start of DF and they just feel awkward to use and not âshaman likeâ.
I was hoping WWI would fix it. I suspect it will never be fixed.
Thatâs a lie.
Primordial Wave is required for Farseer Shaman to work.
but that has always been the case⌠I mean always.
right, but you can go totemic (resto) or stormbringer (ele) if you donât like pwave.
One of the new trees is dead if a shaman does not take a skill, and thatâs kind of bad.
Both trees being unusable would be a serious issue.
sure, but thatâs true with other things too. you canât have all the capstone talents on most classes or specs. tier sets are often tailored to a particular build/playstyle.
we can argue here about whether it should be that way, but this is not a new design paradigm unique to hero talents.
But there are several capstones one could choose or not, or even none of someone wanted to fill in other stuff.
Hero talents are a binary choice. A or B. If you donât like either, there is no way to talent around them
i just really want to play the way i want. i get that maybe they do things because a small percentage play it that way or what everâŚi just would like to choose what i want and still feel âheroicâ no matter the content. it is, after allâŚheroic talents. i have seen the comments about how i should just be fine since i do not do mythic or such (kinda condescending comments) but, my point is heroic talents should not make us do anything specific. they should amplify what everyone could use. not what they want us to use
