i agree that these are junk but thats just me
Red and blue button. Lemme just fix that for you.
Or people can just stop complaining about things 6 months awayā¦
Hero Talents are a clear indicator that Blizzard doesnāt know wtf to do with this game anymore. Seriously, whoever thought this āgeniusā implementation should be added to the game should go back to game design school.
What I donāt get is that other games have nailed hero classes/sub classes. Their answer is to add another talent tree? Blizzards talent has all truly left.
I expect these to be kind ofā¦ safe. Balancing seems like a full-time nightmare, and now Iām picturing a warcraft logs graph that is triple the length, and the hell thatās going to be spec of a spec of class A is higher on the graph than spec of a spec of class B, and so on. Augmentation gave a glimpse into how even a mildly new design can upend things.
Believe me, I would love for some of these Hero talents to enable moments where I can feel like a Hero, or that just feel awesome; a super flashy spell (talking likeā¦ Warlock summoning Sargeras and him popping up with his stupid sword and stabbing stuff level of flashy), or something like how Chaos Bolt or Pyroblast used to be when they felt good to hit. My biggest fear, at this point, is Hero talent choice boils down to which coat of passives paint that theorycrafting says is the best. I know Iām insane for wishing that these will be something that will let you customize, and it not be at the cost of gimping yourself, but I can hope!
I am too. Anything with the word āheroā in it has to be epic.
Which games?
The game of TrustMeBro
Iām actually curious to see what they come up with. Iāve played most of the Western MMOs that approached any decent size or presence, so I wanna see what gets referred to here, lol.
Damn some negative people on these forums blizz never can win with some of you
Iāve looked at all the ones that have been announced and Iām looking forward to them becoming testable with the alpha/beta in a few months
After taking some time to read and see whatās the āideaā for other classes, itās pretty clear we have another Azerite Gear in our hands, we are too close to launch to see a major overhaul and we will maybe have something half decent around patch 11.2.5.
Iāve been saying this about D4 (and itās itemization) since it came out, but this is very true of WoW as well. Good to see someone else making the same joke.
For whatever reason a lot of casual players cheer on bloat even though they canāt already play a spec at a minimum level.
I donāt know about the hero/sub classes, but games like Guild Wars 2, Last Epoch and even Diablo 3 have much more streamlined ability and talent systems that donāt feel like a bloated mish-mash mess.
I think a simpler, more streamlined ability and talent system can be had by doing something in between D3 and Last Epoch. It would make player choice more engaging and be substantially easier to balance.
They did it in Legion. People hated it. Simple isnāt the answer, and neither is overly complex.
Excuse me, nuance and nondichotomous thinking is not allowed here.
Sorry! Sorry! I forgot! Logic isnāt allowed!
If you are referring to my response, from what I remember, a lot of players actually really liked Legionās class design and balance. The consensus seemed to be it was the best since MoP, when the talent rows were introduced.
Then youāre remembering very inaccurately. Five ability buttons, and that trash heap of a ātalentā system did far more harm than good.
