For once, I’m not here to make fun of Demon Hunters.
For me, the Hero Spec I can’t take seriously is Deathbringer Death Knight.
I grew up watching “The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy”, so I just can’t take the whole “Grim Reaper” theme seriously.
Now, I fully understand that this Hero spec is not meant to be silly, and that’s it’s my perspective that is warped by years watching a silly cartoon about the Grim Reaper, but I can’t help being me, so that’s that.
What about you? Is there a Hero Spec that you think is silly?
I just think it’s funny that one of the Druid ones is “Elune’s chosen.” To me, that seems like Elune looked at all the other druids and said “gross, not those.”
Same kind of thing with “Conduit of the Celestials” for monks. I like to think that the Celestials are shunning the other monks because they aren’t good enough.
I wouldn’t say any strike be as silly or I can’t take them seriously.
But some of them just seem a little… redundant? Almost like they’re just fluffier titles for what they are?
Like when a Subway employee is referred to as a Sandwich Artist.
Pack Leader - Beast Mastery Hunter. Yep. Figured you’d be the leader, not… a co pet?
Slayer - Warrior. Yep, indeed that is what you do.
Deathbringer - Death Knight. Yes yes. That is the gist of your existence.
But the one that tickles me pink on a personal level is Frostfire for Mages, and the reason why is back in WoD (maybe it was going into Legion) they removed Frostfire bolt and made some dumb statement like “lol what even is Frostfire anyways??” and now they bring it back as a whole Hero Talent theme.
Like wow, when you get a tiny bit creative in a world with Magic suddenly things aren’t dumb.
Oh also the other day there was a thread where someone renamed the Hero Talents, and renamed San’layn to Neck Romancer. I’ll probably giggle to myself every time that pops up in my head.
