Here we go again

I just see Blizzard does. I dont flame blizzard because it is not in my interests what they do.

Only way this gets changed is with HEAVY delay because the system is so ingrained into the expansion. Iā€™d rather just have SL sooner, plus I like the way the system is now.

Having the abilities tied to the covenant means they can directly affect those abilities if they wan with the soulbinds.

If you are so apathetic, then why are you expressing such interest in those that want to let them know they are not going down a productive route? It is like metro, they are going to play the game regardlessā€¦then why do you show so much interest in voicing your apathy to us?

Watcher is completely out of touch with the players I mean youd think the deafening amounts of booing he received at the last Blizzcon wouldā€™ve been a wake up call but no he stood there smirking condescendingly at the people in attendance and these were the most dedicatedly loyal of Blizzard fans

seriously what more of a sign that things are bad than that does Blizzard want before they realize Watcher is NOT good for the long term health of the game?

Maybe getting rid of players who dislike something is ā€œgood for the long term health of the gameā€.

People will always dislike something. Every system ever put into the game has been hated by someone.

I dont want anybody to lose their jobs but I think he would be better leading something else at this point, such as the raid teams. He was fine in that area. His optics and his ideas since his promotion has felt like nothing but downfall, honestly.

Get rid of players that have played over a decade and have some of the most beneficial information to share with blizzard about what would make the game work and be enjoyable? If you truly do not care about what they do, then why do you care that we do? You will play regardless. We arenā€™t trying to ruin the game with our voices. WE WANT THE GAME TO BE NUMBER 1. We love this game. You have to quit looking at ā€œnegativeā€ people in that light. Would you have called the people giving feedback about azurite armor in the beta ā€œnegativeā€? You are kinda blowing my mind right now. It is amazing how some people see the world.

driving away small groups maybe but when you continue to support and belittle paying customers for voicing an opinion opposing such treatment to the point you lose millions of them is NEVER a good thing

he can spin doctor it all he likes but driving away players is not going to make the product better

You know whats engaging? Give me back my stances, restrictions and all. Rental powers are lame because they will be gone at the end of the xpac(covs this time).

Whats your definition of engaging? Because 99% of the time all current classes can be played by a drinking bird.

For some reason they find rental systems engaging when they arenā€™t at all. They need to introduce other forms of content that arenā€™t rental systems and that are engaging. What this content is I am not sure. It sure as hell isnā€™t Azerite, Essences, or Corruption though.

I like them, as well as many others. Most people only come to the forums to complain though so it turns into an echo chamber.

The more I think about it the more it seems like these abilities, and borrowed power in general, are just excuses to forgo making strong reputations and actually tuning classes. They need to stop coming at everything from a raiding perspective.

oh I agree move him to another job because he is NOT the lead developer this game needs

Heā€™s not saying anything new though, heā€™s saying what everyone has said.

In any case, I think the idea with covenants is to cause exactly the opposite of what you guys want. Blizz explicitly wants players to make a choice that handicaps them in some parts of the game compared to other choices.

A part of this is because the game is moving towards solo play.

Hereā€™s the thing though, a new talent row is pointless given what the community wants. At that point is just ā€œletā€™s ad a new ability for every part of the game because one choice will always be the best for itā€ if thatā€™s the case then thereā€™s no choice, Blizz might as well just bake a new ability into the class like they did up to WOTLK and be done with it. Canā€™t complain about choices if the choice is made from the beginning after all.

From my perspective all these gimmicks are just band-aids.
If classes went back to the WOTLK style trees, and with years of knowledge at this point they can balance them a little closer together and add some playstyle diffrences. Also maybe even let melee classes specialize in certain weaponsā€¦lookin at you mace spec anything.

Mace spec + Stormherald please  lol. Good old days.

I also ran with a combat rogue in 2ā€™s in BC if you catch my drift

But with the current mindset of the community thatā€™s impossible to do, because there will always be a ā€œbestā€ for something therefore never a choice, therefore never engagement because itā€™s just a big bothersome thing to get the one thing that everyone else does.
At that point might as well just give out new abilities and not do anything.

Which I guess worked fine enough for Blizz up to Cata.

Dang Metro - I cannot believe I am agreeing with you so much this morning - but I am - 100%. Excellent posts. Thank you.

9.2* thereā€™s no way this system gets changed in 9.1, they already have 9.1 planned out fully.
