For what i understand its a prevalent problem in wow. GM for most part only take strongest because they want it done. So yes to answer question. They making choices for you. Because you let them.
Yeah that one. I was trying to remember if you made a post on the Corruption System or the refusal to bring back tier sets.
In a mythic setting and maybe like 5% of heroic GMs who just want a power trip.
As a player though even in say open world content, even without rushing through content dont you want to be stronger. When an upgrade on gear drops do you just say eh it dosent look cool ill stick to what i already have. I am sure by the end-game we will all have the looks from the covenant that we can t-mog so why not take the stronger choice.
I dont unless they cant read because the solutions have been clearly laid out for years and ignored.
Who asked for covenants?? I dont think anyone did. Whats been asked for is the old talent trees brought back and tweaked a little. Nope no one asked for RNG on top of RNG, azerite grinds, essence grinds, or anything thats been offered recently.
And they will experience the same reaction as BFA then. Its better to delay than to put out crap on s stick.
Oh no a customer gave negative feedback and wants the product to be more fun. Crucify them all…
No one cares.
Then the devs need to listen NOW instead of waiting.

So the solution is what? Make them all numerically identical and the only difference is cosmetic?

He’s absolutely right. I thought the same thing the moment they revealed this system.
They need to focus on fully developing the classes & specs themselves, and give flavor/cosmetic rewards from factions like this. Not crucial gameplay abilities, where you will clearly be forced into choosing the “optimal” one. It just doesn’t work.
It is a shame. But people have no patience, they don’t try to have any understanding they just want what they want.
Of course on the other hand, it’s GD and there are nuggets along the way that can help when you toss all the noise aside and treat it for what it is…noise.

There is one word that describes the covenant system as it is being presented. Shoehorn.

that’s an understatement Blizzard doesn’t do shoehorns its more like they pull out a sledgehammer and pounded a square peg until it fits the round hole although sometimes they use the old nerf bat

He’s dead on, that has been one of my concerns with the covenants also. Blizz needs to STOP with borrowed power. Just let us power up through better gear, weapons, and consumables… you know, like it’s been from day one.

SO much this.
Post WoD I’ve been mainly a LfR hero because of work and not real big on pugging raids (prefer to do those with my guild ) With that being said even I want to to be able to do the best I can with the various content I do and at the level I do it at.
Just because I’m at Corporal Casual level doesn’t meant I don’t want to strive to work towards or Captain One Percenter’s level.

Doesn’t matter where the power comes from when at the end of the day the complaint boils down to who has the most of it. Take away the systems and people will still find that 105 to 100 difference somewhere to be mad about.
What needs to be redesigned specifically? All they need to do is add new abilities for each covenant, they have plenty of time right now. Or they could just cut them and save us all the trouble.
Why do people act like covenants will be meaningless without abilities, specifically situational abilities? There should be plenty of covenant specific content after you choose one.
The devs won’t do that. Otherwise, the game would be too simple. Complexity means guaranteed employment through the life of the xpac. Self-preservation first (don’t deny you wouldn’t do the same thing if you were in their shoes, I would, lol)
Be a Leader and not a Follower, Choose w/e covenant you want, not one that 5 other ppl u know chose b/c they ran some damage or healing test on an addon
