Except you can be anywhere and queue up with this addon or join a group anywhere. It takes away from the necessity of travelling and utilizing the world (and other players) to get things done. It’s like comparing a phone at home to a cell phone you can take anywhere with you. It’s not the same.
It’s also a retail addon…
I think you guys are missing an important detail:

This was being tested on the Retail client.
This add on actually did exist in a very similar form in Vanilla. It was called Call to Arms. The biggest difference was back then, there was no global LFG channel, so the add on created one and only those using the add on would be able to see the groups forming. Now, with global chat channels, everyone can see every group forming and can still join them without the add on.
The fear is this add on will create an exclusive social network and it just doesn’t work that way. If you do want something like that, I’m sure it’s already available with discord and Blizz can’t do a thing about that.
Yup, and this was later folded into CT Raid Assist and oRA2, among several others.
A whole lot of folks on here forgetting about CT Raid Assist and oRA2.
“Queue up” is just posting in chat and you can do that anywhere without the addon.
Are you saying that this is a boy cried wolf moment, and there is no such addon? Or that it is in beta, so they will fix it? Or that some random streamer made it, so we should discount it?
yea and thats what we are trying to say… these guys, what their, trying to say, we have a version that dont auto invites people, and sure, i can live with that…
but they also have a working version that auto invites a tank, healer and three dps, all by cheking your talent build… and THAT is the problem. that version needs to be broken so it dosent work in classic
It’s a retail stream. OP misrepresented it.
I agree and there’s no reason to think it won’t be if it auto invites since it isn’t even allowed in Retail. Again, fearmongering.
If you want to know how much of a non-issue this is, I never watch streams but I’m listening to this esfand guy talk to the Classic devs right now and they’re rehashing questions that have been beaten to death instead of talking about addons like this.
I am saying the version in the video is made on Retail servers.
The same Retail servers you claim auto invite is broken on. So how is auto invite working in the video, on a Retail server.
It was meant to be a double edge post:
- The video is not the Classic version (which does not implement auto invite)
- The claim blizzard broke ‘auto invite’ on BfA is clearly false (see video)
Thanks for making me explain my super clever post.
Honestly, I’m confused about this as well. Did they reimplement it in 8.2 or something? Because I know they broke auto invite a while ago.
The guy probably invited the person who “auto joined” and went through the farce of making a group. The guy hits accept and bam! REEEEEEEE AUTO INVITEEEEEE!
Probably because they have the add-on themselves, much in the same way you can “force” someone with an invite keyword to auto-invite you if you whisper them the right word.
Wow…this needs to be stopped
Are you sure? I would have sworn they basically broke any kind of auto invite in retail back at the end of Legion or start of BfA.
I mean the thing in the clip wouldn’t be particularly difficult to fake but I’m giving it the benefit of the doubt.
Paladin tanks are fantastic. The people stating otherwise are just wrong.
They broke invite keywords? I haven’t played since WoD so I wouldn’t know if they specifically broke something like that.
Reminds me of foreign people talking about America’s guns.
They never broke auto invite. It’s still been an addon since forever. Our guild uses it to auto invite out raid team with 1 button.
