Yeah, that’s why I just didn’t bother with them. Too much hassle/drama if they decide to turn it on before the boss and as a healer or tank I usually didn’t have much trouble putting my own groups together anyway.
I was almost over my cursade against the Addon. Until I read, from the Author of the addon, that the addon can read your talent trees. Now I am back on the train to break the addon.
Somalion…it does talent tree parsing so you can exclude “scrubs” not running cookie cutter specs.
It’s an opt in thing. I promise you, it will save you time in the long run even if you don’t use the addon.
If someone is going to be nitpicky about your talents for a 5man they’re going to ask you to use a certain ability deep into whatever tree they want you to be and if you can’t do it they’re going to kick you, wasting your time.
There have been addons that hide this sort of chat labeled as spam filters for years.
Guess we need to call spam filters automation too

How is it going to work? Please enlighten me. I’ve already demonstrated how someone that’s picky about talents can determine to a degree what you’ve spent them on without any kind of addon.
If someone wants to be elitist or gatekeep, they don’t need an addon to do it. Heck, I’d rather them be able to see my talents so I can avoid people like that.
Well they do in classic because there is no other way to see your talent tree other than this addon

I want people to say ‘o.O your talents are wrong’ So I can add them to my blacklist.

-LFG with automated invites -> Talent lookup function - > Gearscoring function -> Raider IO

I just wanted to add my comment somewhere just in case Blizzard monitors the amount of players on the forums that likes or dislikes something. I dislike any lfg type addon. Thanks.

It will become woven in the fabric of the game that you must have this addon because it shows your talent choices. If you don’t have the Addon you don’t get to group. That is EXACTLY how it will turn out because history has already proven it.

No, you can’t inspect people’s talents directly in Classic.
But you can ask, to give an example Esfand used since these threads like to refer to him so much, for a paladin to use Holy shock to make sure they’re spec’d deep into holy for healing.
Then it will become woven into the fabric of the game that you have to demonstrate you can use the “optimal talents” before people will let you stay in the group. Edit: without the addon since some people didn’t understand that.
The slippery slope argument really doesn’t hold up when you can already do the thing you’re warning about without any addon.

All of those were non-issues for many (including myself) and were 100% ignorable and we never used them.

As more of those “excluding” addons came into play the less I did pugs and stuck more with my guild.
