Ok, got a BIG Question!!
I have had a ‘friend’ for a while, but things have come to a screeching halt with that friendship recently. I want to play but every time I get on he is messaging and pestering me, so I need to disappear from him.
I do NOT want to go ‘offline’ for everyone.
We are not in a guild together so he would not see me there…
If you are real id or battle tag friends, you should be able to remove them from your list, which should remove you from their list, but if you are on their in game character friends list this will not work. Have you simply tried suggesting that you do not have time for them?
They only show up on his friends list. Unless there harassing and swearing at you ignore is ur. Best option it ignores them 100% unless they account hop.
Adding someone via Battle Tag requires an okay from the person being added. So if you remove them from your Battle Tag then they cannot readd you unless you okay it.
HOWEVER, they can still add you via in-game character friends list and you would never know it.
As has already been mentioned, add their character to your in game /ignore list to never hear from them again.
They can still see you if they have added you via the in-game character list OR if they happen upon your character in game. However, they would be unable to message you.
It really doesn’t matter if they can see you. So long as you absolutely don’t respond to them, just ignore them each time they crop up. If they’re really persistent about it? Keep a record of each day and time they message you, and the character’s name. If they’re circumventing the ignore, that is a big no-no and they will go after people for that. It just doesn’t work if you talk to them, even to tell them to leave you alone. Don’t say anything. Ignore them. Right-click and report them if the language gets bad. Heck, if they whisper you, report them for a chat infraction, and use the text box to explain it’s ongoing harassment so that it logs it for you in-game.
Take a breath, and please remember it’s not Blizzards fault you and your friend had a falling out. Blizzard has put a lot of things in place to help, but they are also a business so it’s only natural that there are services that require payment.
