I’m having a discussion with my friends as to which class is the best, on a historical level. Not necessarily, in just World PvP, but PvP in all aspects and all time not just recent patches.
My friend is saying Rogue is the best PvP class. Or has been consistently near top tier since Vanilla. Is he correct?
Well rogues have historically been a great PvP class. I don’t think there’s ever been an expansion where they didn’t have an A or S tier spec
They’re also always good in world PvP because they’re guarenteed the opener. On top of this, if things start going south for them,they just cloak + vanish and run away with no repercussions.
You basically only fight a rogue if they want you to fight them
In my opinion, they’re a class that’s built for PvP through and through
they better have evasion up, I can stop vanish
I’d vote rogue or mage. Mage always has a good spec.
Agreed mage and rogue have always had a dominant spec.

I don’t remember a time in the history of this game that they haven’t been atleast A+ in any sort of PvP
They have been S tier and never once left that, maybe not all specs at once, but at least one is always meta.

Then you are letting your perceptions of recent events cloud your memory, plenty of times they were in the dirt.
umm let me clear the cobwebs I play a warlock there hasnt been a time when one spec wasnt viable period
