Hi everyone. So this season was the first time since at least WotLK I’ve tried to push rating. The impetus for this was my irl friend who plays a moonkin, who’s now unsubscribed and is what I’d call VERY casual.
It’s my understanding that both balance and shadow are not very good in arenas in general, especially in 2v2 and especially in that combination but other issues were that my partner could just not be bothered to grind the cloak, ilvl or essences so our ceiling ended up being high 1400s, I don’t want to come off as arrogant but frankly it often felt like my back hurt even at that low rating.
I’d like to branch out with the LFG tool but I hear these stories of difficulty retaining people dedicated to pushing rating and it worries me since I play a class that’s at least percieved to be low tier.
So with the context out of the way:

Is it possible for me to get to at least 1800s through pugging as shadow?
Maybe there’s discord groups out there that would fulfill this purpose better but I’m not sure what they are. -
Would my chances for finding groups be better as Discipline?

Is shadow priest viable at all in 2’s?

How essential are focus or target macros in general to climb rating? Thinking on it now, chain CCing healers would probably be a lot easier with a focus macro for all 3 CCs
