So, i’ve been playing rogues for more than 10 years and i dislike druid and paladin to my core.
Which leaves me with Warlock, Hunter, DK, priest, warrior. Now, what i WANTED to play is frost DK, but apparently there’s gonna be a ton of them, the new warlock/hunter from tbc.
My second choice would be hunter, as i have fond memories of Surv hunter in BGs/arenas.
TL;DR: Between hunter and DK, which one is the most likely to find a raid spot/pug since i don’t partake in GDKP?
Since we will be on final patch of WOTLK DKs will be good, but not insane/broken AF as they were on WOTLK launch where they were nigh untouchable, but they will still be good and desired, just overpopulated.
If you’re willing to tank as needed I would go DK to give you a leg up, most people don’t like tanking these days. If not Hunter is a very strong DPS choice and will also be a highly desired class to bring to raid as well, and you can’t go wrong playing ranged.
As he said id probably go with DK and maintain a tank set. 5 mans and heroics are fairly easy compared to TBC heroics so you dont REALLY need a dedicated tank spec, just a set and some knowledge on how to do it. Dk aoe tanking is legitimately just the UH aoe rotation diseases, pestilence, dnd, boil on CD. Pest to refresh diseases as needed. Ezpz
So, one question: As a DPS choice, is DK viable? Otherwise i think i’ll just run some straths (sigh) until i get gold enough to get a mount for my hunter.
Mages will be overcrowded, i kinda like mages but i don’t really wanna compete with 300 of them.
They said the same thing about the Paladins in TBC, but I never noticed a huge influx of Paladins enough where I would be forced to have 2 or more in a party or anything of that sort. There were just enough made to help balance the class to be just as common as any other classes already created. So if you heart says DK, then go DK. Screw what predictors predict as most of the time they are wrong when it comes to WoW.
DK Tank for me, with maybe OS Unholy DPS as I never tried Unholy back in the day.
Pretty much every class is viable for DPS in WotLK.
Can only make assumptions regarding what will happen come WotLK, but something to consider are the other classes you’d be competing against for gear. Arms/Fury Warriors,
Ret Paladins and other DKs versus Hunters and Enhancement shaman. Less competition for hunters, especially considering how high demand Shadowmourne is going to be.
Hunter has the advantage of being ranged as well while DK as the advantage of being able to tank.
Honestly, if you have a guild you’re planning of running with come WotLK, I would simply see with them what they are planning on playing and choose from there the least populated of the two if neither seems more interesting to you gameplay wise.
That’s a fair grievance to have.
Have you tried looking on the Grobbulus Discord server for a guild that match your hours? (I would assume they have one)
I feel like this shouldn’t be too much of a concern. I remember the speculation that locks and hunters would be EVERYWHERE in TBC, but that isn’t really the case. I reckon DK will be incredibly popular early on but then will sort of taper off as people return to their favorite class. It’s also less appealing to play a DK this time around, versus vanilla where they were brand new and everyone had to try it out. I say it’s better to play what you enjoy, even if there’s a boatload of them, rather than play something you like half as well just because it’s less common. To each their own though.
Another note is that, IIRC, survival is good at start of WOTLK. Falls off in ICC to MM when ArP becomes more abundant so if you’re deadset on being Surv you certainly can, but people will be looking to bring MM hunters specifically. I believe Surv falls more into support role still.
They’re everywhere it’s just that raids really support stacking them so it’s fine. We may still get away with this in WOTLK just as well. Melee tends to be a more hotly contested raid slot though and DKs aren’t going to be the uncontestable kings of DPS.
They’re really not though. If you look at the actual class distribution at level 70, they’re all pretty similar. Some classes a few percent below and others a few above, but in general it’s pretty well distributed among all classes.
Lmao imagine saying this with little to no proof, a literal chart with multiple thousands of votes went up on r/classicwow that shows Hunter/Lock being the most played classes in our current patch.
Cope harder, your Druid is legit the lowest played and least wanted and it’ll stay the same in Wrath cause 90% of you aren’t good enough to do the rotations.
lol there’s most definitely logs and proof that shows the percentage distribution of each class at every level. Once again showing you’re a troll and an idiot. It’s kindof funny at this point lolol
