Why are we paying money for a sub so we can have a convoluted process to submit a ticket, with every effort to thwart your ability to actually submit a ticket - while also automating the responses to these tickets to say “you don’t need a ticket, here’s wowhead”.
You’ve already got an automated system for restoring items(which is fun trying to find the one item you scrapped in the middle of the other thousand bracers you scrapped) So what is blizzards support team even doing?
Long story short, I messed up early on with the visions quest to kill dark watchers, which at the time was to reward the last everlasting breath(to upgrade breath of the dying) and for about a week I kept trying to use the NPC to re-get the potion but it would just stare at me and not give me the potion again, despite not being anywhere in my inventory, or in the bank. After the week switched over to the other vision I couldn’t try again, came back to the uldum minor vision the week after and decided to try dropping the quest to see if that would fix it. Didn’t re-offer me the quest as I’d hoped, so I put in a ticket… Days later apparently it didn’t submit because there’s no record of it on the website or otherwise… So I’m irritated but at this point, I’m just going to have to keep grinding until it offers me the quest again.
I did it daily until the quest finally re-spawned, in which no longer offered me the item to upgrade my breath of the dying. Completed it anyways - thinking maybe somewhere blizzards busted coding might reward me with it anyways. Nope.
At this point I’m pretty much like 7/10 mad, coming from 8.0 and trying to get reasonably caught up I’m already dealing with 9872398723 time-gates of meaningless garbage - and this quest getting hung up on one of my bis essences doesn’t help.
So naturally, my next ticket(after battling with the garbage ticket submission) is noticeably more from the position of someone who’s clearly not in the mood to be pleasant. Repeatedly getting re-directed to WOWhead links on quests and told to drop it and pick it up has a tendency to royally piss you off when you’re a.) not an idiot and can read quests and b.) you’ve actually tried that prior to submitting a ticket. Talk about salt in the wound.
Flash forward, I get an automated response saying I don’t need a ticket, link to wowhead, and suggestion to drop the quest and re-accept it.
Needless to say having to uncheck “marked as resolved” after all of this has got me like 9.5/10. The last response to the ticket had boiled down to a demand to see the reward for the quest I’ve completed in my mailbox within 7 days or I’m unsubbing both my accounts and there is a good chance the two friends that were going to play shadowlands will probably follow suit.
When in the world did blizzard support turn into this automated run-around, only to be answered by more automated run-arounds? Why are we paying for a sub? Maybe your support team wouldn’t flake out and quit if you paid them more than peanuts and didn’t add a captcha level ring around the rosy to rile customers up before they finally make it to a real person to solve their real problem.
I’d say you could chalk it up to the ripple effects from covid IF all this garbage didn’t exist long before that. If anything activision’s greedy execs probably figured it was a great way to furlough their workers while still raking in that quarantine money.
