Hello support... anyone there?

Why are we paying money for a sub so we can have a convoluted process to submit a ticket, with every effort to thwart your ability to actually submit a ticket - while also automating the responses to these tickets to say “you don’t need a ticket, here’s wowhead”.

You’ve already got an automated system for restoring items(which is fun trying to find the one item you scrapped in the middle of the other thousand bracers you scrapped) So what is blizzards support team even doing?

Long story short, I messed up early on with the visions quest to kill dark watchers, which at the time was to reward the last everlasting breath(to upgrade breath of the dying) and for about a week I kept trying to use the NPC to re-get the potion but it would just stare at me and not give me the potion again, despite not being anywhere in my inventory, or in the bank. After the week switched over to the other vision I couldn’t try again, came back to the uldum minor vision the week after and decided to try dropping the quest to see if that would fix it. Didn’t re-offer me the quest as I’d hoped, so I put in a ticket… Days later apparently it didn’t submit because there’s no record of it on the website or otherwise… So I’m irritated but at this point, I’m just going to have to keep grinding until it offers me the quest again.

I did it daily until the quest finally re-spawned, in which no longer offered me the item to upgrade my breath of the dying. Completed it anyways - thinking maybe somewhere blizzards busted coding might reward me with it anyways. Nope.

At this point I’m pretty much like 7/10 mad, coming from 8.0 and trying to get reasonably caught up I’m already dealing with 9872398723 time-gates of meaningless garbage - and this quest getting hung up on one of my bis essences doesn’t help.

So naturally, my next ticket(after battling with the garbage ticket submission) is noticeably more from the position of someone who’s clearly not in the mood to be pleasant. Repeatedly getting re-directed to WOWhead links on quests and told to drop it and pick it up has a tendency to royally piss you off when you’re a.) not an idiot and can read quests and b.) you’ve actually tried that prior to submitting a ticket. Talk about salt in the wound.

Flash forward, I get an automated response saying I don’t need a ticket, link to wowhead, and suggestion to drop the quest and re-accept it.

Needless to say having to uncheck “marked as resolved” after all of this has got me like 9.5/10. The last response to the ticket had boiled down to a demand to see the reward for the quest I’ve completed in my mailbox within 7 days or I’m unsubbing both my accounts and there is a good chance the two friends that were going to play shadowlands will probably follow suit.

When in the world did blizzard support turn into this automated run-around, only to be answered by more automated run-arounds? Why are we paying for a sub? Maybe your support team wouldn’t flake out and quit if you paid them more than peanuts and didn’t add a captcha level ring around the rosy to rile customers up before they finally make it to a real person to solve their real problem.

I’d say you could chalk it up to the ripple effects from covid IF all this garbage didn’t exist long before that. If anything activision’s greedy execs probably figured it was a great way to furlough their workers while still raking in that quarantine money.

Isn’t the upgrade item from the first lesser vision of the week regardless of which quest it is? That info is probably on WoWhead where the GM linked you.

Why did you keep trying to do a specific quest?

Because it wasn’t offering it to me at all - first of the week or not, so I was thinking maybe it’s just bugged to the quest

Are you sure you’re looking for the correct item in your inventory? You can only acquire one of them per week, and so long as you complete a daily quest from the minor vision NPC it is added to your inventory automatically upon completion of that first daily quest.

The item you are looking for is this one: https://www.wowhead.com/item=174288/breath-of-everlasting-spirit#reward-from-q

I say this, because at several points in your multi-paragraph rant of emotion here you fail to state the correct name of the item, so if you can’t even remember the item’s correct name, my faith in you finding it in your inventory is lacking. Check your inventory for Breath of Everlasting Spirit while you have all bags open and using the search feature in the main backpack.

Ya I’ve noticed our support has really diminished over the years. Like two-three years ago or so I received an automated response back from a ticket I sent.

We pay monthly for this game, with a ingame cash-shop. I don’t think there should be an excuse why we receive bad customer service. That’s just my opinion.

I am not a specialist in business by any means but I read things from time to time.

I did see a Forbes article a while back ago stating businesses lose 75 billion due to poor customer service. Other articles supported this. Do I think it is the main factor in making a company successful? No, but having actual customer service would be a important. They should be trying hard to retain them and keep them happy. More so with a subscription.

It is also proven it is harder to get them back if they have felt ignored or insulted in some way. (Customer service.) It is possible but the priority should be not trying to lose them in the first place.

Edit: Blizzard likes to keep the mentality that they are the only credible gaming company in 2020 still. They have a vast amount of competition in this industry on different platforms nowadays. They don’t want to give the customer what they want. They will go and bring their money with them elsewhere.

nice and patronizing, but ironically I’ve never mentioned the quest item’s name - so before you go trying to quiz me on frilly RP non sense, if I wasnt 1 away from being upgrading my BotD it wouldn’t have been high on my list of chores.

you know you can search your bags right?? not to mention obviously you’ve got to be missing some bolts of you didnt realize you can click quest items from the quest overlay on the right side if your screen.

but clearly you’re just a low effort troll, because again, I’ve completed the quest - so it’s not like I’m incapable.

I had a world 14th parse on a cutting edge mythic boss, let’s stop pretending questing is hard. I died in the vision because I literally left myself where I thought no mobs spawned to use the bathroom, and was 4/6 on watchers the first time around

Okay, you have me confused. You mentioned the Essence, I looked up the essence and the quest, and the quest item is not what you stated in your post.

Your post is full of anger and emotion and that leads me to believe you’re angry and emotional and not thinking logically and missed something and are complaining that you cannot find a weekly quest reward, so my start is at the basics of find the actual quest item, verify if you have it, and move from there.

IDGAF what you parse at, nobody does, because that is wholly irrelevant to finding the quest item you are looking for and finding an answer as to why the quest you are seeking isn’t there.

Stow the anger, and think through the problem logically and without emotion.

this is an issue I’ve had for weeks, I get some garbage automated support redirecting me to wowhead, then support ticket geta autochecked as resolved by a robot replying to look at wowhead, come to the forum and you’re wondering why I’m not thanking you profusely for telling me to CHECK WOWHEAD.

are you really that oblivious?

Would you like to try in the CS forums section there is always two reps nosing about over there

No, I’m trying to solve your problem of not receiving a quest item and not seeing a quest.

You seem to be less interested in solving the problem than just whining about support processes. If all you want is to whine, have at it. I’m more than happy to help you try to solve the problem, or help to find where something went wrong so that you can provide a competent and useful bug report without 5 paragraphs of emotional ranting that’s going to get glazed over by the support or QA person unfortunate enough to have to see it and marked as a complaint and tossed in a dumpster somewhere.

Lmao their excuse for not doing anything about my last ticket was “please be patient due to current events.” Like homie, your money-grubbing bosses aren’t going to extend my refund deadline just because their employees aren’t showing up to process claims.

Don’t plan on it. This automated WHY DON’T YOU CHECK WOWHEAD, CLEARLY YOU DIDNT CLICK OPEN TICKET BECAUSE YOU ACTUALLY NEED SUPPORT thing is the problem.

I shouldn’t have to go to forums to fix a support issue that is 100% their buggy game. There is 0 helpful advice to be followed, been playing games for decades - the tried and true “drop it and pick it back up” was attempted before I even put in a ticket. If blizzard wants to keep my sub they’ll respond to a support ticket.

These are daily quests, that may be why it wouldn’t let you do that quest another day. I won’t even ask how you could have messed that quest up.

I don’t see why you couldn’t have just abandoned the quest and did the new one the next day.

Sorry. But a lot of what people ask for cant be given and that is not poor customer service. I have had maybe 1 bad experience since 06. If you explain what you are needing clearly if they can do it they will

Looking at your character in more detail…

I’m showing your first clear of a Horrific Vision was on 06MAY2020:
https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/us/area-52/sorrow/achievements/expansion-features/visions-of-nzoth

Which means you have had access to the Minor visions on this character for a maximum of 2 Weekly Resets, which means that you should have a maximum of 2 Breaths of Everlasting Spirits.

How many do you have in your inventory, if any at all?

Have you checked the 5 quests to see if one is marked as completed?
You can use: /script print(IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(1952))
In-game, just replace the numbers with the Quest ID from the 5 quests listed on the Wowhead page here:

That will let you pinpoint if you have done a quest that actually rewards the item you are seeking, and if you have fewer than 2 Breaths, then you have a starting point to actually providing a proper bug report and a point where support can actually look for to verify an issue and maybe get you your reward if it is missing.

How did you try dropping a daily quest the week later?

They added the self restoration because of players wanting constant restores and that was taking time away from tickets that needed more attention

They are telling you to check wowhead because obviously you cant explain your problem clearly enough to make it seem like its not a PEBKAC error or an actual bug
