I’m not sure how many people actually use Heirlooms for leveling their alts, but the cost of upgrading these thing is just completely mindbending. I HAD a plan to upgrade all my Heirlooms to max level. Well that plan didn’t come to fruition because to upgrade them all, it was over 400k gold. Yes, I could use other currency if I had any left to do it.
I am asking that Heirloom items not have any cost to upgrade, have them at the highest rank just because you went through the process of getting them.
If not that, then reduce the cost to upgrade SIGNIFICANTLY! Like by 80% or more. It shouldn’t cost well this much to upgrade them so we can use them through the level grind.
Me either, but doesn’t hurt to bring it up and ask… hopefully 1 dev will see it and then think ‘yeah, we are trying to make the game more alt friendly, this needs fixed’
I went so hard on heirlooms back in the day and love the concept. These upgrade costs ruined it and now I just don’t use them. Even without the XP bonuses it’s still nice to just gear up, mog out, and get to work.
But if they were trying to to make the game more alt friendly by adjusting heirlooms…I would hope that price would be the last thing on their list of ideas.
Changing them to make them useful again would hopefully be the first
Considering this is supposed to be the expansion where we play lots and lots of alts, Blizzard shouldn’t be putting up a barrier for players wanting to roll a new alt to overcome, and not make it a gold sink.
Agreed, when they changed it to mainly focus on your rested xp, it made it not as worthwhile. I think having a minor xp bonus for a full set like 5-10% would be much better. Increase stats by a bit, stuff like that. Bumps to rested xp was really pointless since pretty sure most of us will just run that alt to max and not have much rested xp to deal with anyways.
They were during the radiant pre-expansion event, where you got very little gear drops that were dropping just for cosmetic reasons, while leveling in the event.
Trying to go from level ten to max with low level gear was hard to do at higher levels, when you aggroed mobs and had poor dps/survivability.
The problem with gold sinks is that they’re meant to hit the hardcore players first, and the casual players last, as the hardcore players play a lot more and have a lot more gold that needs sinking.
So if you’re a casual player, you hit this wall of a gold sink that’s meant for the hardcore player that plays a lot more hours than you do.
Spam time walk dungeons when they are up and use the badges to buy the upgrade tokens off the tw vendor. In retail they are imo not really worth wasting the g to upgrade anymore, except maybe on the weapons, and trinks. Quest greens a lot of times end up having better stats anyways.
