Hello
It appears that the Heart of Azeroth essences are no longer working in pre-Shadowlands content. The Azerite gear (helm, shoulders and chest) powers still work though. I noticed this when doing Naxxramas 25 man for the scourgestones. I cannot use blood of the enemy (rank 4) azerite essence. As it says I am in the wrong zone. Also Ripple in Space (Rank 3)'s passive 5% movement speed is not working ether. In fact it appears to have been removed outright. I checked this out in the Eastern Plaguelands as well to make sure it is not an instanced only problem.
Provided below are screenshots of myself in Naxxramas 25 with the Azerite essences saying I am in the wrong zone, along with Ripple in Space rank 3 not having the 5% movement speed increase.

Seconding this. No longer able to solo Heroic Valithria Dreamwalker in Icecrown Citadel with the removal of the ability to use The Crucible of Flame on non-healing classes. Bandages continue to not work.

I am seeing the same thing.

the heart of azeroth is a key piece to a good timewalking gear set.
I saw this on the last TW raid and wasn’t happy at all.

It appears that Blizzard in their infinite wisdom have restricted the HoA essences to BFA content and only BFA content.
Still strange that they would do this mid way through a week and not tell anyone. Real scummy move on their part if this is intentional.
Like why disable the essences in non BFA, pre SL content but not the azerite gear bonuses?
Where is the logic there? Oh wait, it is Blizzard. When do they have logic.

Timewalking sets using legacy gear are going to be ineffective altogether with the next patch, unfortunately. Timewalking in 11.0.5 Scaling Up

People still use the HoA for speed sets with ripple in space essence (rank 3) due to the 5% movement speed buff. But also the HoA is required for azerite pieces to function (longstrider trait).
Which again is why it is odd that if the HoA essences breaking in non-BFA content is intentional, even pre-SL content why only break one and not the other as well?

Update. Looks like Blizzard has disabled essences from BFA zones as well. Or the very least, BFA instances. Can’t use Crucible of Flame to heal the Avatar of Sethraliss and for some reason, she is immune to bandages. And there not enough enemies for the laser matrix azerite power from Uldir gear to heal her up to the break points.
GG Blizzard. Thanks for making a fight impossible for non healing classes for some stupid reason.
EDIT: Seems the disabled essences only happen on heroic and mythic. Normal is fine.
