Heart of Azeroth is gone, can't complete "Harnessing the Power"

I need to complete the quest “Harnessing the Power” from Mother, however I can’t because it requires the Heart of Azeroth, which I don’t have. It is not in my bank, it’s not in my bags. I know I must have had it at some point because there’s no way to get this far into the quest line without it. Magni won’t give me another one and he has no quests for me. This is the only quest.

If it’s not showing up in a bag/bank search? First thing you can try, see if it comes up in the Item Restoration tool.

Thank you, but that’s not working either. I just double-checked the item restoration tool and it’s not listed. I did a search on my bank and bags, and I even went through and purged almost everything from my bank just to be sure.

I also considered that I might not have ever had one, so I looked up the quests on wowhead for getting a Heart of Azeroth, and I used the script to determine if the quests have been completed, and they all have. I can only conclude that the game somehow ate the item.

P.S. I submitted a ticket in-game, but it says I have no active tickets. I’m so lost lol

If it’s your posting character, you haven’t yet completed the first quest in the chain.

If it isn’t your posting character, could you provide the name-realm?

Since the Heart of Azeroth cannot be destroyed or vendored, it is in your bank or bags somewhere. Also, if you did not get a ticket number when submitting a ticket, then it did not submit. Try opening a ticket with a single word in it, get the ticket number, then edit the ticket to say what you want it to say. Just remember to keep it simple and to the point.

To Jetsum: I completely understand that the Heart of Azeroth cannot be destroyed/vendored/deleted, which is what makes this so perplexing. It’s not in my bags or my bank. I even cleared out most of the items I had just to make sure. I could take a screenshot with all bank tabs and bags open if it’s helpful. I just really don’t have it. I will submit another ticket.

I also pasted in the quest completion script for the quest “The Heart of Azeroth” that rewards the heart as a quest reward and the result is “true”, so I am stumped.

To Ekon, this is the character that is experiencing the problem. Borislav on Frostmane US

It does look like you have completed the Heart of Azeroth quest, but the item is no where to be found on your character. A Game Master should be able to help recover the item, please leave your ticket open.

Just out of sheer curiosity and knowledge, is it possible to transfer a toon from one account to another and leave something like this behind in a bank or does your full bank come with you? I’ve never transferred a character so I’m curious.

Your bank is part of your inventory, it goes with you.

Thank you

When is wow going to fix all the stuff they broke with the last update? I am not going to buy dragon whatever since you won’t fix what is already in game and broken. I am getting no customer support from you and after 3 days am just going to leave when my game expires since I can go play other mmo’s that don’t have as many issues and have to be updated every other day.

You don’t want much, do you? “Just fix everything”.

First thing, issues are triaged. An issue that is preventing a massive number of people from accessing the game is top priority versus, as an example, a quest from many expansions ago that a player can easily workaround or skip altogether.

Second, not all bugs are easily replicated and/or fixed. Sometimes, the solution that causes the least amount of problems is selected. Also, bugs do not get fixed immediately. There’s a process to go through. Replicating the bug doesn’t mean they know how it’s happening, knowing how it’s happening doesn’t mean they know how to fix it, knowing how to fit it doesn’t mean it doesn’t need to be tested, being tested doesn’t mean it’s solved.

Third, many times what people insist is a bug is really not. They just don’t read the quest text, or they outlevel it and complete it too fast, or they are simply not looking in the right place. These are game hints, and GM’s cannot help you with it.

Finally, the issue may not be on their radar, because the person reporting the bug opens tickets, where the GM’s who answer cannot help, nor can they “pass on” information. TO properly report a bug, you need to post in the Bug Report Forum, or use the in-gam e Report A Bug feature.

No game, no computer program, none whatsoever, are free from bugs. It’s even in the Agreement we sign before we can start playing the game.

GM’s do not handle bugs. They cannot help you, except is exceedingly rare circumstances, where the developers have given permission to assist.

Good luck wherever your gaming takes you.

Weird. You ask Blizzard to fix what’s wrong, but now you’re complaining that you have to update the client every other day. How would they fix anything if they stop pushing updates?

Good luck with those other MMO’s. This is not a Blizzard practice; it’s standard across the whole industry. When you encounter a bug in those games (and you will, because no game is free of bugs), it’s going to be the same process.

I had a look at your other recent post about the game not letting you use the heart of azeroth despite the fact that you’re wearing it and I’m wondering if it’s just that the extra abilities button is missing from your UI.

It’s easy to check, just press Esc. while in-game, click on the option for Edit Mode, then make sure that “Extra Ability” is checked.

See if maybe that solves it for you.

EDIT:
I’m replying just to say that I got a response from Xyresyk, who mailed me a Heart of Azeroth, and that fixed the problem. Interestingly, upon receiving the item in the mail, my character got the achievement for obtaining the Heart of Azeroth, which means that I never had one to begin with (on this character), therefore it wasn’t destroyed or deleted, the quest just hadn’t rewarded one. Oh well, it’s fixed now. Thank you.
