Healing adds larodar/fyrak

Is there a particular reason they added this mechanic to the game. but didnt’ fix the UI in a way that lets us actually target them reasonably?. . . in my standard UI their bars are the literal bottom right so far from view as to be unvisible. and through healing addons that mouseover macro the party frames, which don’t seem to work in a lot of these instances.

so for anyone who actually heals through things like that, you can’t seem to heal 2 of the raid fights? either that or you need to completely change up how all of your hotkeys work to accomodate?

I use frame healing with mouse commands too. To solve this issue (and Chromie in Fall) I just barred a couple healing spells, click to target the NPCs and press a couple buttons. Works fine, and doesn’t require any UI reworking, etc.

Mouseover macros in your heals are a god send in this case. I’ve been using mouseover macros for all my healing since Vanilla so I’ve never had an issue with healing anything even when others lose the ability to use Vuhdo or other such addons. Might want to look into it.

Yeah the healing NPC mechanics drive me nuts in combination with their ancient UI that doesn’t interface with what’s actually going on in the game.

The UI should just automatically put NPCs on focus that need to be healed. Blizzard WANTS people to rely on Addons or something, they’re forcing our hands.
I can’t and don’t want to remember to put Chromie and Dookie and Pookie on focus every single dungeon, don’t wanna make focus a keybind either, already have way too damn many.

I also tried mouse over stuff while healing and I found I didn’t like it. Sometimes my mouse is accidentally hovering over targets I don’t want to heal.

I dunno… these adds are EXTREMELY easy to target. On fyrakk they are usually by themselves with nothing else around at all.

No problems whatsoever and the only thing i use is grid2 raid frames.

I remember back then the friendly adds you must heal had frames pop up on the side of the screen under the mini map area. I don’t see those anymore. I always found those to be extremely useful.

Or even if the friendly adds could be temporarily added to your party, that would be even easier.

Not a healer but the feedback from my team has been…

The healers who have a bunch of addons are struggling because they can only heal by interacting with raid frames.

The healers with base ui are saying, “just click/target them and heal them”

Mouseover on the npc themselves does the trick.

Yeah I just mouseover them.

The Fryakk adds are all in a clump so it’s pretty easy.

The Laradar tree adds tend to be all in a clump as well. Then the bramble is just a single target heal.

Just use the following on your spells:

/use [@mouseover, exists] Insert heal name here

For Larodar, the treants show up in the boss frames, so I just moved them closer so I could see them and my click casting mouse over works fine.

However, the spirits for Fyrakk don’t show up in the boss frames (presumably bc there are so many) so it gets really frustrating having to manually target them before healing. Especially when you have to swing your camera angle around all over the place just to get them all.

If anyone knows of an addon, macro or weakaura that makes targeting them easier please let us know.

that’s what vudhu essentially is. are mouseover macro’s. but with a small difference.

I can have my offensive and heal spells on the same bind. without the akwardness that help/harm macro’s cause. which for disc/MW are very valuable

edit: because apparently I can’t respond to more than 1 person unless it’s all in one post

i’m aware of how to build a mouseover macro for my heals. but those heals are also the same exact hotkeys as my offensive spells.

priest - Mindblast, penance, smite, etc.
MW - tiger palm, blackout kick, rsk.

vudhu lets me use those same mouseovers on vudhu frames while still keeping my normal offensive skills. So to use something like mouseover macro’s I’d need to revamp my hotkeys by a noticeable margin to enable it. as help/harm macro’s get very finicky in combat if you even hover over someone near a boss, or if hitboxex are dramatic sizes etc.

You can add in ally frames on Vudhu which seems to be the only method to do it there. but it still doesn’t include fyrak heal targets

Oh I know but from time to time you will find Vudhu breaks and some people cant seem to heal without it so thats why I was glad I used macros to learn to heal with in Vanilla WoW.

I don’t use add-ons and heal them just fine. A lot of this is positioning by the player.

it’s less positioning and more the usage of addons for my heal frames. and them not being on most heal frames. fyrak adds aren’t on any frames. but the others you can work in with vudhu just takes some fenagling.

I don’t use healing add-ons. I use the base raid frames and the in game click casting. The treants/bramble for Larodar show up in the boss raid frames and are easily healed. The Fyrakk spirits don’t and that’s where I get frustrated. Have to swing my camera around to click them individually and heal.

Honestly having these healer gimmick fights seems like too much. It’s interesting to have a gimmicky fight once in a while, but seems like its every other one now.

/target Charred
/cast Healing Wave
Does the job since they are not showing on healing frames, bind to mouse button

ElvUI shows me nameplates above their heads and frames on the side of my screen, both of which work for mousovers.

Just be happy you arent a resto shaman.
