As a feral, can confirm.
While prot wars can’t kill me, I can’t really kill them either. I’ll usually try to CC them and keep them away from the chest as long as I can. Hopefully it’s one of those up on a bridge I can knock them off of.

There’s your problem.
I’ve only run into 1 feral where we went our separate ways. I usually kill most of them but think they don’t expect me to burst and then they don’t recover from the chain CC.
I also hope for that as I run dragon charge in WPvP so I can do knocks.
I usually try to save the feral charge for the knockbacks I know are coming!
Nothing like getting knocked off a ledge only to leap right back in midair.
yep its really dumb Blizzard what are you even doing
Making WPvP great again.
I just crank it out with another frost mage buddy, we both burst while spell steal. I love getting healed by enemy hots.
WPVP hasn’t been good since TM vs SS; pre-AV. And it never will be again.
I disagree. Laggy 40+ man sized raid groups fighting one another isn’t what I’d call “good.”
MOP, Legion and Dragonflight had really good WPvP though in my opinion. TWW has decent WPvP right now.
8.3 BFA WPvP was fun. The zones were good and the power for WPvP was great.
WoD WPvP was also great, again zones and PvP was in an amazing spot.
Legion WPvP was amazing, lot of super broken OPness with Leggos, great zones,
MoP WPvP was the highlight of that expansion, Timeless ilses. Nothing been close to that since.
Think there is a trend above, great zones, crazy power = fun WPvP (which is why SL/DF were bad)
This is what WoW players wanted. god mode healers in RSS equates to celestial level healers in WPvP.
Dragonflight had crazy power though, wonder why you consider it bad
WPvP in DF was a blast lol
DF was just SL 2.0. I played it for a month and quit. I played SL for 1 month. I think DF was a bad expansion not worth playing. SL was the worst expansion in history.
After SL the worst expansion in history driving millions to other games. Blizz played it safe with DF. They didn’t innovate or try anything. The goal of the DF expansion was to not make any waves. They didn’t start to try anything till the end of DF but I wasn’t coming back. I just waited for TWW.
With that said there are still some stuff left over from SL they do need to remove like DR on secondary stats. They are anti-fun measures. I still haven’t felt powerful since BFA because you can’t get enough stats. TWW would be a lot better if we could get double the stats and there are no DRs.
I am optimistic about having 9 gems though. Maybe in TWW we will get some crazy powers and they can remove anti-fun DR. TWW at least looks promising.
The world buffs we could get from Ruby Feast and the likes didn’t remind me of Shadowlands at all. Shadowlands WPvP was slow imo. I loved going around Dragon Isles being able to 1v5 a party with my buffs.
Still can kind of do that in TWW, but we’ll have to see what other crazy buffs there are later and stuff we can do when we have Conquest gear.
Ok maybe that was fun. It’s not enough to play DF though a bad expansion and SL 2.0.
I need more than that. Again Dragonriding super cool. Not enough for me to pay for a sub though. DF was a flat, bland expansion that played it safe because it was coming off the worst expansion in history. I decided to save my money and play another game that’s all.
TWW isn’t even in the same galaxy as DF as an expansion. TWW added crazy new innovations and really bought back open world content. (which also promotes WPvP)
I’m curious to know what new “innovations” TWW has brought that promotes WPvP.
From what I’ve seen so far, and something I even called out in beta, is that TWW copy/pasted alot of things we already had in War Mode, be it from BfA/SL/DF and simply dumbed some of it down.
The WPvP WQs for example are all just different iterations of PvP WQs we’ve already seen. Shadowlands was horrible for WPvP because they cut things out (no WM supply crate for example) where as Dragonflight brought it back and brought in War Mode currency + vendor. They did a revamp on PvP gear as a whole that worked out pretty good imo.
TWW for the most part carried over many of the innovations brought in DF, but dumbed alot of it down (for the good and the worst, really). Blue/rare quality War Mode gear was obtainable through Bloody Tokens in Dragonflight compared to now in TWW that same gear is obtained only through RNG PvP WQ rewards. Bloody Tokens are now a seasonal weekly cap similar to Conquest and can only be used to buy the Purple/Epic quality War Mode gear.
War Mode PvP tier set was removed from the gear, yet still remains 3 PvP ilvls less than it’s Honor/Conq counterparts.
PvPers can no longer obtain PvP gear that’s higher than the Veteran track ilvls because of the removal of Vault. They still never addressed how we’d upgrade our gear past Veteran rank.
Crafting was simplified a bit and we no longer need to obtain sparks, but we can also no longer apply sparks onto our gear for higher ilvl, etc.
The only new thing we got this expansion was PvP sockets for our gear and the 6 hr FFA chest that can contain a socket item in it.
So you are either getting owned by a healer and a dps or you decided to pick a fight with a class that can’t kill you. Sounds like a lot of QQ instead of grouping up with a healer
2 separate things. TWW did crazy innovations AND they brought back open world content.
First the innovations
TWW has made massive steps in adding features that have been asked for years. They made exceptional innovations to the game which does increase the player base significantly which then also will lead to far greater PvP participation since PvP is pulled from the PvE player base.
Ontop of that open world content hasn’t been this good in many expansions, got some legion vibes. My favorite activity is snuffling. I can do it for hours and then there is always a chest near by to loot or another activity.
The side quest are top notch and take you on journey’s to explore the awesome zones. While exploring today I just found a WPvP item that is amazing I’m gonna keep that a secret though. Want to fully test this baby out will help me be immortal and it’s very possible some players are using it.
With TWW WoW is back, it’s addicting, it added very popular ideas from popular expansions. The open world is great. It’s taking chances with new design philosophy and Solo content and Que. Which helps WPvP.
On this note the best gear in WPvP should be a combination of PvE and PvP gear. Raid gear, crazy trinkets, Legendaries, Quest or whatever OP item. Anything goes. Like it used to be. WPvP isn’t fair it’s ANYTHING goes.
Warbands were a great addition to the expansion for sure, it makes having alts and the whole renown thing easier.
Rated BG Blitz is also nice, but I wouldn’t say these increased open world participation.
Follower Dungeons were added in Dragonflight though, not TWW.
It’s great right now because it’s the beginning of the expansion. Don’t get me wrong I’m all for solo content and solo queue, but I don’t see how this really helps WPvP. It helps overall PvP participation but War Mode still suffers from problems like sharding.
Dragonflight had many open world events, they introduced Sparks of Life which specifically increased War Mode population, had out door events like Fyrakk assault, Dreamsurge, Bloom event, Time Rift, Obsidian Siege, etc.
I agree which is why I think it’s ridiculous they gimped PvP gear’s base ilvl. We can no longer upgrade the base ilvl of PvP gear above Veteran track which means it’ll remain garbage. If we want to do PvE content for any mixture of gear, it’s harder to do now that our PvP gear isn’t viable in PvE. Dragonflight had a great system for this but they seemed to have abandoned it.
Healers make the game boring. No deaths just doing damage rotation for hours. It makes people with pathetic lives feel better.
