So recently in the latest alpha build, blizz has decided to remove all the healer interrupts. While technically on paper it is a W change and am sure healers will appreciate it. But I personally have one concern. Lots of times in lower keys where ppl are learning things, dps will often not interrupt a cast. And while they dont interrupt, the healers are punished for dps mechanics cause we have to heal them back. Ofc its not the case with higher keys as they will simply die, but on lower keys this is very much the case, and the reason why most healers feel the lower level content are usually the hardest. We dont interrupt because we want to, we do it because WE MUST. Blizz please make casts and mechanics that dont just do huge damage and make us healers be punished more for dps and tank mistakes. Please make more mechancis like polymorph, silence, disarm, cyclone such that dps are the one who are punished if they dont inerrupt, not the healers. Simply doing damage is just gonna make healing more stressful for newer players.
Sounds like DPS will start learning the harder way like everyone else.
I agree losing the interrupts sucks, we already did this cycle in legion and they gave them back.
But healersâŚhealingâŚbecause someone made a mistake being called âpunishedâ is always wild to me as a healer. Thatâs my primary role, to heal people (and interrupt/cc/dps as well).
If someone pulls an extra add do we say dps are âpunishedâ for that mistake by needing to dps more?
Lots of Healers like op live in their high horse all the time pretending they are the best and its all the dps fault
It amazes me how often people will support an option being taken away from others, because they personally donât want to use that option.
There are often other things to heal as well
And taking extra mobs affects a healer just as much as a dps so yea its not like we are being spared there ![]()
Must be uncomfortable in there.
The same could be said for things being forced. Some of us were happy with Heroics and never asked for Mythics. But here we are.
Itâs less about taking options away, and more about pushing the game design away from âeverybody must always be interruptingâ
Especially if itâs in the desert and the horse has no name.
Healing is not hard.
Less skilled players make more mistakes and require more healing, that wonât change, even if you fear them, theyâll just end up pulling more mobs and dying anywayâŚetc.
Iâm not sure where this untapped mysterious pool of new players are that everyone seems to be talking aboutâŚbut if people that play MMOâs havenât found WoW by now, then I donât see a wave of untapped potential lining up to play anytime soon.
I hope Iâm wrong.
Its the new buzzword next to fomo.
They are justifying all the bad changes on these supposed millioms of ânew playersâ that will play wow after 21 years of it existing.
In reality, every single one of them arguing for these changes dont even complete the content where kicks are needed
See the guy above saying he was happy with heroic dungeons. That is the kind of people blizzard is catering to
Fear does not need to be the only option. There are other options like disarm as in the first boss of tazavesh or silence like we had in motherlode trash. We can also make mobs cast cyclone as we do in pvp. And btw i started playing in war within. Everyone I know also started playing in war within or Dragonflight. There are bound to be new ppl ![]()
My Disc Priest is traumatized. What will I do without an interrupt
Ask your Holy Priest.
I would only call it a âWâ if Shamans lost it too. The fact that they keep it, and lust, poison cleanse totem, and a good melee group buff means we are headed into another Rshaman meta where they will get picked first over other healing specs.
Itâs never a W to have capabilities taken away.
No new player is turned off WoW/healing by having the option to kick in low keys.
This is the first time Iâm seeing this in the forums. Thank you for bringing it up. ![]()

Well this is incorrect. I believe Shaman gets theirs, but in a bit of a nerfed state, 30s CD I believe I read somewhere.
