While I personally won’t play HC, I’m subbed to this guy and saw this pop up.
I’m not that familiar with WoW HC scene, outside of reddit posts & memes, but as a former D2LoD Hardcore enjoyer, I think…
HC realms must only be HC, no SC options.
Straight up disable trading and remove AH NPCs.
Remove infinite mob leash.
If first time around none of these will apply, I wonder if Blizzard will straight up make changes to new “season” of HC and introduce tons of level restrictions. Including bandages.
Yeh, the community that mostly can’t make it past level 15 is going to be twinking out alts and pro dungeon grinding suddently. Nah, they’ll be perpetually in elwynn forest just like they are now. Don’t worry about what players who are actually able to make it to 60 do. Worry about what your next alt is going to be when you die to that harvest watcher.
the problem is you literally cannot level enchanting if you can’t trade a blacksmith. I think there are possible compromises without getting rid of all trading. Yet I’d prefer they do nothing and allow the possibility of cheating than to go all the way with no trading.
People who cheat won’t last long on a hc server anyway
It’ll be interesting to see how many people actually are able to acquire full level 1 bis, and then give it to their alts.
Or if bots are able to actually farm HC without dying well enough. Otherwise, it’s human controlled and obviously there may be some RMT involved if people are trying to get full level 1 bis as a service.
fair point… Wow originally wasn’t built for this. Trading is part of WoW.
Perhaps trade restrictions could be lifted for “trade goods” only? But with some extra restrictions.
The only rule that belongs is one life . This isn’t an ironman server, it’s a hardcore server. If you want to play by ironman rules feel free to self impose them.
It is a legitimate fear, but I think also an exaggerated one. I don’t see gold farmers or bots ever finding a home in HC. I think people are glazing over the fact that when you die you can’t rez. For those that are unaware, the average life expectancy of a HC character is 13 levels. 13.
Materials and crafted items only. No self found, no AH.
If trading is allowed, you can still refrain. It’s not like there is a prize at the end y’all are competing for.
I’ll be doing the Blizzard mode and the add-on as well. I’m thinking it’ll be significantly easier without the add-on if it plays with no restrictions at all. Kinda like hardcore for beginners.
This is extremely disingenuous. 90% of the current hardcore addon users are stuck below level 15.
Most of those problems you’re seeing in that video aren’t even going to be possible for an extremely long time after release, and require months of farming by a level 60 character, who if said character dies once lose all their progress.
The video is funny, but to take it seriously and try to justify FORCING the solo self-made on everyone is dumb.
