I’m not advocating for resurrect in pvp to work for deaths. I think we just literally just bring over the same HC ruleset but make pvp between certain level of players like that of the honorable kill system.
I can agree with this, we don’t need people in free gear because you can’t die in BGs.

Yes I don’t think we need to go crazy with the coding here, but simply keeping pvp limited to players within 5 levels of your character is enough to probably bring in a lot of people.
We shouldn’t bring back resurrection, just bring over the rules from the PvE server.
We don’t need to over complicate this, just get a PvP HC Server.

I can’t believe I hadn’t seen this post, thanks for sharing. I couldn’t agree with you more, I think a HC PvP server would bring WoW Classic closer to a timeless sandbox, a server that doesn’t die for finishing a certain season of content. It reminds me of Star Wars Jedi Academy Movie Battles 2, a modded version of the SW Jedi Knight Jedi Academy game, that after more than 15 years you enter the servers and they are alive and very entertaining. It is timeless and does not require constant content creation, because it is difficult to master the game, given the wide range of possibilities that can be given, which in this case is generated by the world pvp.
I love your idea about the city guards. I once thought it would be fun to give all classes stealth at their base level, just because I thought it made sense that everyone could be a little stealthy and leave the rogues as stealth masters. It’s an alternative that helps you survive pvp in the world, by running and hiding at least. But your alternative may be even better. I am main rogue anyway, so I obviously have no intention of nerfing the class, just finding a harmonious solution.

This is definitely something I really hope they consider, imagine the fun.
I mean think about the literal nail biting when entering contested territory and all of the consumables and prep people would be making at lower levels before they finally enter contested zones, things that we take for granted on a PvE server such as running along a road avoiding mobs is much harder as well. It will truly be a shame if we don’t get a PvP HC server. That is the REAL HC server in my eyes for sure.

Give higher level players a debuff similar to resurrection sickness for an hour or so for killing a lower leveled player. The debuff can pause upon logout so you’ll be forced to wait it out.

Well to be honest they would be in a server that wasn’t intended for that just to get a reaction out of people.

We already offered up a simple idea only allowing people to attack those that are within honor level range.
It is much much harder to get gear because of the PvP in the world. This makes if anyone ever gets a single raid going a phenomenal task and is an achievement all in its own.
Although it is a PvP server, I expect gearing to be much more important, as well as having consumables that are much more pricey.
Also a pvp server would have a lot less issues with Gold Farmers and Gold Selling/Buying.
Most gold farmers use bots or third party apps, they aren’t good at defending themselves. This means Gold Farmers will have to manually farm, and that will drastically reduce the ones that were to try and also the amount of gold they can accrue safely. IF they get caught, or if they seem to be farmers it will be fairly easy for the community to handle this issue ourselves.
A PvP Server is literally the funnest sounding thing.

The reality is that there are SO many players that enjoy PvP Servers as opposed to PvE alone. The current HC community is compromised of primarily PvE players, but a simple announcement of a PvP HC realms would bring in a lot more people that might feel like doing nothing but PvE until level 60 sounds dull.
Edit: There is also people just like you saying the regular HC servers will die fast too. No one pays attention to sour people that have 0 input except blatant negativity.

Well said, it’s funny how they play a niche game mode (PvE HC Ruleset) but then flame us for enjoying a similar game mode (PvP HC Ruleset).
I was playing on Bloodsail lastnight and actually ran into two other players attempting Insane in the Membrane (PvP acheive).
The argument that few will make it to 60 as PvP is really silly. Because if that argument was valid, then HC PvE servers would be invalid as well. Because 99% of HC PvE players die before 60. Therefore, using PvP antagnists’ logic, PvE servers are invalid/silly/waste of time. They need a better argument but really there is none. HC challenge is about having fun and a lot of us have fun ganking/being ganked.

I always thought PvE servers were for lame-os and the REAL WoW was only happening on PvP Servers.

I would absolutely play a HC PvP realm.
I probably would not play a HC that is not a PvP realm.

At this rate just title the main server RP-PvE HC so the Roleplayers feel safer, and give us one PvP HC server.
Easy fix.
