Right now (and being going for at least 4 hours now) there’s a griefer exploiting a debuff bug:
Has being called out in reddit already (though there’s no solid proof).
https://www.reddit.com/r/wowhardcore/comments/1g8vmqi/warning_there_is_currently_a_player_named_ajleg/
What I can see is he was at the zone where two players died by those mobs.
Whoever is doing this is killing players most likely by exploiting a bug á la “corrupted blood”, this should be banned, fixed, and appealed.
Choosing to do nothing about this is how private server thrive.

I can’t agree more.
This requires an action from Blizzard, this kind of exploits shouldn’t be something that is allowed.

I agree, but blizzard doesn’t care

Blizzard didn’t care when a quarter of a raid died because the servers crashed and force kept the players online in an inactive state. I am sure they are gonna appeal some level 18s.

Blizzard has been very clear since the beginning about appeals. No appeals for any reason ever. That’s not going to change.

Ah, but I propose this SHOULD change.

While I know they won’t appeal this guy should be perma-banned. I’ve been going around on my mage trying to decurse him and keep lowbies safe but it’s definitely an up-hill battle as he slips away constantly.

I got griefed today. I was level 29 and I got killed by a skull-level phantom in wetlands while grinding dinosaurs. I don’t expect blizzard to revive my character but I will probably unsubscribe if they don’t. Dying because somebody else breaks ToS really sucks, especially if blizzard just lets it happen.
I have photo proof of my combat log but not a video. It’s not that hard to prove. How else does a level 60 phantom appear in wetlands without griefing? Spoiler alert, It can’t.

This has always been the case in HC. I remember when Warlocks were using Curse of Recklessness on low level mobs to give them 300 additional attack power and they would 2-shot the lowbies fighting them. I remember when Warlocks were summon Infernals, then dropping the subjugate and they would just run around killing anyone like level 25 or under. I remember the 60 rogues that were stealthed, flagged, on flight masters and when you run up to click the flight master you would accidentally auto-attack the rogue, then get viciously murdered by the guards or ganked. I remember Hunters training packs of mobs on top of people and then feign deathing the aggro on to levelers.
None of this is new. This has all been happening since Day 1 of Hardcore. It’s essentially impossible for Blizzard to police. They usually get around to suspending the offending griefers but there are no appeals. Ever.

I’m not sure I agree with the thread title, but I appreciate you drawing attention to the griefer and the exploit that was used. I hope this will be resolved soon.

There is solid proof, another reddit thread has captured video of the griefer summoning the mob to attack and kill a character in menethil Harbour.

this game is handing out suspensions left , right and center over foul language but lets things like this go on endlessly,

This. Video is the best proof.

Automated Enforcement Bots can’t detect this kind of behavior. Blizzard is a small indie company and can’t afford a GM.

Fix the exploit but a big NO on appeals.
Dead = Go Agane!
Never an exception to death!

Yes, appeals are needed. The only caveat is video has to be submitted to verify a person’s claim.

HC needs no appeals, HC needs griefers perma banned as fast as humanly possible.

The moment they allow a single appeal, HC is dead and it becomes the joke that appeal core was on BSB, and at that point they should just shut the server down, as there will always be a justifiable excuse why someone should get rezzed, no matter how silly or stupid. It doesn’t matter how you die, death is death and thats the point of HC. So follow the shiny light to the normal ERA servers, if you’re asking for appeals, you don’t belong on HC. There are plenty of servers where you can “appeal” your death whenever you want.
You guys took longer than expected and cost me a bet.
Some just jumped to yell “there will always be a justifiable excuse…” yeah, no, if you read beyond the title of my post you can tell I’m just speaking about bug related deaths.
You’re all saying a bug-exploited snipe-kill is not to be appealed because it would kill the server? I haven’t got Insane Stance yet on my Warrior, how do I get it?
While those are just opinions, what we have now is a lazy “We dO nOt ReZ” masking a cheap “we don’t want to invest on support for the game you pay”.
If your fear is “they’ll just start bot approving appeals” then I get your fear (although I haven’t read such thing yet, no one ever bothers explaining it past “game will die!!!”; it just came to my mind, So I may be wrong).
But even then, you’re on Blizzards side on the cheap azz excuse, you’re all going “Yeah game is shít, but it could be worse” while we should be going “game is shít, it should be better”.
Also, if there’s appeals, and you feel like your bug related death is a sign of your gods to “go agane” still can choose not to appeal and enjoy your new run

Just No.
No appeals EVER, move on.
HC is HARD CORE. That includes every possible cause of death even if it isn’t fair. [almost like real life yeah? duh ]
If you can’t handle dying to bugs, greifers, DC etc. don’t play.
