It’s also generating the soul fragments that’s so random. I’ll 6-7 chaos strikes without getting a single one. Other times I’ll get one every other hit.
But its those starvation points where you start to see things go wrong.
I’ve only gotten to the 2nd phase once. Pretty sure I dont have the skill to check this one off my list.
he just barely makes it in time and thats with using that trinket
Just barely doesn’t really matter does it? It’s not like the achievement is any different. My point was to show others that are struggling that it is possible and perhaps they will see something that will help them out.
So my 2 cents, any gems you have swap them out for agi gems. (Delicate Queen’s Garnet and 1 Leviathan’s Eye).
Use Pyrdaz for neck socket and you must must get computation device with cyclotronic blast for p3. During transition you can swap gear/talents. That was the only trinket I swapped (swapped out a golgeneths vitality from p1/p2). Talents for p1/p2 go 2121131. For p3 go 1121121. Enchants I went force multiplier and sinful for the 5% st dmg. I did have mark of satyr but the damage it did was pretty abysmal so find a different neck chant (p1/p2 it only did 0.6% dmg and p3 only 0.8%)
I will admit I got lucky having the heirloom Hellscream’s Cleaver which has 2 prismatic sockets and a socket bonus of +2 agi. Helps more than you know. Consumables Unbridled Fury and drums with versatility food (agi would’ve been better) and agi flask with rune.

and my point was, even with him using that trinket he barely made it, and that trinket is suppose to be like top tier for the mage tower stuff rn, so not having it i would imagine makes it more rough for other people
Beat him during legion, it was a nightmare even with Legion legendary
went a got a different dps trinket for p2 and managed to kill it (the meta cd trinket from nighthold),
Ahh good ol convergence of fates. I should get that for my alt attempts.

The only thing with the Mage Tower is, you are “forced” to use a spec or talent that you would not normally USE, just to beat this tower. It’s not even about knowing your class or the dps, its about learning a new play style JUST so you can beat this mage tower… because no one would spec talent like this guy in the actual world, and the fact you switch trinket and gears half way… i dunno the mage tower doesn’t really show anything.
Thing is with Convergence we really should have the effect be active
This is actually the same as when it originally came out. You swapped legendaries and talents during intermission as well back then.
Simply untrue. You most definitely need to still know Dh and how use it effectively to beat mage tower. And as far as dps goes this time around there is much heavier reliant on proper dps. Of Dh’s I’ve seen complete it and myself it is a very tight encounter with little room for error because of the dps requirements of last phase.
Edit: woops double post which is weird since I was editing first one. Stupid mobile phone
Wait do all those special gems u have work in it if so they should remove that.
I got it done, first phase farm fragments, second move boss to edge and never eye beam the adds, always burst on boss and slow on adds is a must.
Managed to kill it with SL only gear and pots. P2 took about ~4.5 min and the platform was completely covered, 1 more tick of the darkness and I would have died. Very little room for error. It feels easier in hindsight but there’s some RNG in P1 that can be annoying
dude in video got hyper lucky with ports
They’re low level gems but yes they work. I ended up using dual Hellscream Cleavers with +4 agi gems as well. Unfortunately with how that fight is and how tight dps is on that final phase at least for me it felt necessary.
Was struggling with the enrage timer for phase 3 for a little while until I swapped my gear back to a crit heavy build - if this helps anyone any.
something that might help ya’ll survive phase 1 for the havoc one is to use Double Crusader Enchant (yes it was after the enchant nerf) use that and there is no need for you to use demonic appetite talent. I clear it using this talent set up and stacking haste/vers talents
I find this dps set up way easier than praying for demonic appetite proc. And no need to change talents after first phase. But you can always take the stun talent if u need it. Also for the last phase i switched weapons with 2 Force Multiplier enchant, it procs a ton i had around 75%+ uptime on the enchants for last phase. The only old items i used was Heart of Azeroth and the cloak for the 3 different stat bonus, for trinkets i used the pvp Haste one and vial

Did the MT with nothing but the gear I had in my bags. Run Demonic Appetite, Unbound Chaos, and Fel Eruption P1. Save unbound Chaos for when does the Ice Prison, then double jump and fel rush. You’ll break all the Ice and heal to full. Whenever he’s in frost phase and you interrupt a frostbolt, always try to kite him to the middle of the room. Especially when you first pull him, this way you can grab the extra souls you didn’t pick-up on your initial fel rush and you get extra healing+dmg.
Phase 2, switch to Blind Fury, Glaive Tempest, Master of the Glaive. Kite to edge of room, as normal, but also make sure you stall to kill adds as much as possible to give time for your 2nd meta to come back. If you get 2nd meta at or shortly after 4th adds and he’s at ~20%hp, you’re on track for a kill.
