Having Trouble w/ Raid Lockout System (Ulduar)

I do 25-man Ulduar with my guild. It’s really fun. I enjoy it a lot. Understandably, not everyone can stay up super late so usually around 1-2 AM when we get to Freya, people have to leave. Not enough people are online at the time to fill, so we disband and set a new date and time to finish the raid. Twice now, people just don’t show up to the clean up. If I understand it correctly, you are LOCKED to the raid with those same people. If they don’t play, you can’t play either. Are people this inconsiderate? Why are you joining a raid if you can’t commit to finishing it? You are screwing over all the people who WANT to kill Yogg. Why do you guys/Blizzard insist on having this system in place? 9/16 lockout 8/16 lockout and I can never actually finished the raid - I have to wait until Tuesday just for the same thing to keep happening. People play the game differently now - why have this old system, it clearly does not interact well with the current playerbase and how they play.

What are my solutions? I can’t join another group to finish my Ulduar raid… I’m just… screwed. Find another guild? Every guild I’ve been in does this. I have not found a guild that just does 13/14 in one night. Do I need to server change to a full-pop server with tons of fill - even though Blizzard does not let you server change to good servers? Only to dead ones? Idk need to vent. Trying to get back into this game but the game literally pushes back, for no reason. Let me raid.

You’re locked to the raid ID, not those people. You’re more than welcome to fill up the raid with pugs to get back in there and finish out the content so long as those pugs understand it’s a partial clear.

The way lockouts are in Wrath is the main reason I quit raiding. If a raid isn’t fully cleared on the 1st night, and someone else starts a group and clears it, if you weren’t in that 2nd group, you lose the lockout. Wrath needs Retail’s lockout system.

Who knows? You didn’t give us any information that would allow us to know your server or faction.

Some guild raid groups do full clears in 1 day, some spread it out over multiple sessions (from what I’ve seen if it’s not 1 day, it’s 2).

If someone isn’t locked to Ulduar at all, they can join your lockout ID, so it’s possible to fill with pugs on day two, whether desirable or not.

Your options seem to be to stop caring or to do something about your situation.

Best of luck!

Definitely join a better server

Doesn’t that f over all my guildies, cause killing bosses with pugs would advance their lockout too.

Find a better guild.

no, the guild should be raiding at a time that the raid team can meet - and the guild should be filled with raiders who can raid the set raid times.

what sense does it make to have a raiding guild that members don’t make the times of?

this is as old as wow itself. this is when a good GM, raid leader and officers should handle this kind of a situation. attendance and competence are the true raid boss

oof. I don’t think i could do 2 day ulduar to complete anymore. thank god that only lasted a few weeks. You should probably just find better players to play with. taking 2 days to complete a raid and you’re not even doing hardmodes?? yikes.

Competent guilds are currently clearing the entire raid 14/14 HMs in roughly two hours or less. Definitely should try to find a better guild, and one that is structured around days everyone can make the raid if you want more success playing this game.

I mean technically yes, but if you never reform the raid anyways then not really.

Set a date to finish the raid, if they show up they come, if they don’t pug fill the missing slots and clear. Their fault, not yours.

You just said they aren’t bothering to show up to the clean up anyways so… too bad so sad.

Also one of the problems with pugging is there are literally people who will hold your ID hostage as it is also their ID. They created a failure of a run and want to do so again later in the week to get more people locked to their failed run instead of giving competent people a chance to clean up the raid. It’s an unfortunate part of raid IDs.
I’ve already had this happen to me once by a group of the rudest people I’ve met since I started playing again. Raid leader was on discord cussing people out telling them if they didn’t like it they could just leave and we were on Razorscale :joy:
I shouldn’t have muted him for the content but I just can’t handle dealing with people like that anymore. Raid disbanded before killing IC kekw.
