Tbh they should’ve made a mask item that gives you resistance to the disease just to see how that shakes things up

Look at it this way.
You had the option to be on a PvP Server which could inconvenience you in the world, or go PvE.
You went PvE
Haha. I wouldnt be surprised if blizz took the opportunity to add masks into the game.
They could feed the leberal lie that masks actually helped. At the same time they could appease all of the players that will be mad during the event by making them immune to the plague if they wear a mask. Give the town npcs masks also so they will be unaffected. This would make the event actually worth logging in.

This isn’t relevant. My point is, players take the path of least resistance. If you give players an option to make the game easier, all of them will do it because they’re getting cucked if they don’t.

Because the point of it was that people like you choose the easy option when offered. A mask that prevents you from needing to deal with the entire event with no consequence to it (Like being permanently stuck on PvE servers like Westfall)
Even look at Retail. They made WPvP optional on all servers and it killed every single WPvP server, and their Warmode is absolutely dead.
Player logs in: “Should I quest in the version where Horde can gank me? Nah that’d slow me down”

Wait wait wait, no consequence? Who said anything about that? I said resistant to the disease, not immune to it. Masks don’t make you immune to disease, you still need to follow proper safety protocols to keep yourself and those around you safe
So you’ve still got your standard griefers who wouldn’t take the masks anyway, you’ve got the memelords who would be about “muh freedums!” ironically, and you’d have the people who wear one, hit that small chance of still being infected because they thought they’d be completely immune, and then decide they just don’t work. That’s plenty of people to still spread the disease, and would provide plenty of modern day social commentary
