Can you honestly call that a good game? Especially now that BG’s are composed of mixed factions?
Whatever that means .
yah since i do it for honor mostly
Gear disparity has never been worse, I see players on my team with 36k hps, and you know they have a right to be there too. I would never tell a player you don’t belong here. Maybe go gear up in an Epic BG, but again they are allowed to be there. Then I see a Blood DK on the other team with 171k hps. All it does is discourage new players from jumping into PVP. You diminish the player pool more and more each day. This is Blizzard’s fault 100%.
Because such little attention was given to PVP this expac, Ion is not a PVP’er, and there isn’t anyone on his team that is. Just create a timesink to keep PVP’ers busy with a massive gear treadmill. The problem is players are hitting that threshold and have massive hp pools, and then you have new chars/players coming in and its just a massive issue that they cannot address because they wanted to fix a problem that didn’t exist.
Never really gave thought to it
Saw a healer with 32k. Super fresh 60. Wanted to give pvp a shot. Most miserable experience because we landed against a pre-made that pretty much GY camped us. We dont need to discourage healers…
Club Baby Seal is the name of a made up music venue in a series of pilot episodes for a show created by and featuring Joe Escalante from the band the vandals. Each episode had a cameo from bands like NoFX and the bouncing souls. also featuring Kyle Gass(tenacious d) as the zany fire marshal trying to shut the club down.
nah. its getting real old. this game is so hard to enjoy these days.
its not fun when my team gets rolled cuz they have crap gear
its not fun to GY camp the enemy team cuz they have crap gear
private servers r better than this
I only brought it up because there have been rare instances where my team had an indecent advantage over the opposition, and I have to tell you, it just left me feeling dirty. It was not challenging and not the most enjoyable of experiences.
That’s when I pull my craze rage infested orc brother out of the fray. Leap of faith, more like misdirection angry boi
It’s like shooting fish in a barrel!
I come back to the BG forums every other month. Thinking I want to get involved in wow pvp again.
Would much rather go back to legion templates where someone could have no armor on and still be effective in a BG.
Entry level PVP gear should just be available for gold on a vendor. higher end pvp gear should be limited to maybe a 5% stat bonus. All pvp gear should be > pve gear in pvp environments.
No. Winning one-sided games are almost as bad as losing them. That being said, I have been in enough losing games that I can justify getting through as quickly and painlessly as possible. In that process, the quickening of their demise, it may come across as “clubbing”, but it is actually more of a mercy than any desire to flaunt our godly skill. One thing I will not do, and really can’t abide is quitting.
So may I ask, what do you propose a team does when they are dropped into a BG in which they overmatch the opponent?
I was in an epic BG a few weeks ago and we pushed the rival team all the way to their graveyard. There could’ve been an alliance premade in there with us I suppose.
I always make a conscious effort to not rub it in the face of a team that has given up, generally if my team is gy camping I’m the one running flag or w/e, at least I’m sparing them further frustration, and that helps erase some of the dirty feeling
The reality is that no matter which direction Blizz takes the game in, and they’ve gone every which way they can, there will always be people who will cry.
It is logistically impossible to please everyone.
Not sure what he meant by legion templates, I do remember I got most of my heirloom gear when I played F2P for a few months when I was broke (it was the only thing you could spend honor on at that level). I sometimes wonder why the selection wasn’t expanded to include a full set of gear.
While skill is involved, the game is defiantly gear orientated, rewarding players in something akin to Social Darwinism.
Basically, templates meant that gear was meaningless. And MMO players don’t like that.
First game of the night was an Ashran and they got mowed down. I said in disc damn these must be fresh 60’s or something, it was an easy win and we’d rather a good fight. Was a quick game.
What is the problem they wanted to fix that doesn’t exist?
At the end of BfA some peeps were saying SL was gonna be so great for PvP - because, in their minds, only those pushing arena hard would get good gear for all PvP including casual BGs.
So if they were right, SL should be absolutely teeming with great PvP everywhere?
I think templates are >>>>> the SL system, if you can even call it a system.
Legion templates were not the ‘best’ because blizz didn’t scale them for each bracket, which is why specs like surv hunter and disc priest (and generally 2H melee) were crazy OP in lower brackets.
Players with great gear who complain about casuals being able to earn nearly competitive gear are usually bad players whose gear carries them.
Players with great gear who are great players couldn’t care less about gear power because they’re interested in the fight and skill. They also have the skill to beat most casuals anyway regardless of gear.
