Have you even actually been in a cave in real life?

Lots of the dungeons and raids in the game involve caves and i was wondering how realistic is it even to real life because ive never been to anything like a wailing caverns or such in real life. Does anything like that even exist? Wouldnt it be really dark though?

I live a couple hours away from Mammoth Cave National Park, the world’s longest known cave system. Artificial lighting is an absolute requirement.

It’s spot on in real life. Caves are really full of lights and magic bosses

You’re asking how realistic caves in a fantasy video game are? Really?

I’ve been in plenty of caves in my life. They are very dark and the tunnels are much smaller than WoW caves. Even large caves in real life tend to only have a couple open caverns, with mostly slightly larger than human sized tunnels making up the rest.

That’s one of the caves I’ve been to! Also the only one I remember the name of.

Most of the caves they let people go into have lighting in them now. They have a tendency to frown on people exploring random caves because people end up getting trapped and having to get pulled out.

I was in a cave once. We had to crawl through this tiny space. I think I went second last. The people before me kinda turned it to mud.

I got stuck for a few minutes. It was terrifying.

I do not like caves.

I made it to the very end of a cave once, took about an hour to get to. I was the only one who could make it back there out of everyone in the group because I was only 7 at the time.

If you ever find yourself in Northwest Arizona, there’s a super cool cave just north of Kingman. They’ll even let you stay the night for $1200.

I’ve been a pretty large cave in Central Oregon. Goes way back in to the Earth.

I mean, even in a modest cave, it is often very wet. And you don’t know what darkness is until you experience cave darkness because the feeling of being under the Earth (feeling as in the sensory experience of it) exacerbates the absence of light.

I’m no expert. I’ve been in three caves. But none of them were anything like the caves in WoW.

The big one.

There is a series of caves not too far from where I live. They were aboriginal meeting grounds. There is one pass in the cave system that translates to “Fat Man’s Folly”

I’ll let you guess why.

(Yes, I was able to pass through…)

Penns cave is 30 minutes from my house

id say wailing caverns is the best representation in game, just make it much much darker and with more and bigger stalagmites

I went to Lost World/Caverns with my family. I was like 12 years old, It was fascinating.

if you all ever get out to Mount Rushmore, Wind Cave is amazing
