I know there’s a ton of stuff that needs to be fixed but this model has been a placeholder for YEARS guys. How lazy can blizz be with our class man. Its our big CD and it looks kinda lame and def outdated.

They’ve not acknowledged the shaman dissatisfaction with the Ascendance model since they removed the Glyph of Ascendance in Legion. I’ve made a post about it every single expansion launch since then. Hopefully this is the expansion pack (doubtful) that changes.

I hate everything about it. Turning into an ugly Dark Shaman abomination to spam a single ability for the duration of it is just not appealing gameplay to me at all.

That’s how they keep us distracted. I don’t know how 6 expansions have passed and we still look like a goofy crooked twilights hammer Npc.
Can I be viable without running Ascendance + DRE? It’s just so unsightly–I’d rather not

Ask away if ya want. I just think right now more people care about gameplay changes.
I am perfectly fine being distracted by better class design and gameplay.
You will be significantly behind in damage compared to other shaman. But depending on content it may not matter.

The excuse that they are focusing on tuning is just that at this point. They didn’t NEED to make Spriests look cooler, but they did. They didn’t need to make lock demons have new appearances, and they did. At this point it’s just other neglect because we are a smaller portion of the population.

I’m just not going to take Ascendance until they update it or change it mechanically. I hate that it forces me to spam Lava Burst with no filler. I prefer weaving lightning bolts between Lava Bursts. I’ll use Fire Elemental as my cooldown.

No trust me they (WE) want this because the gameplay has been receiving updates whether it is to everyone’s liking or not. This horrible-looking thing from over a decade ago has not been updated.
No game made/published within the last 5 years should be this behind in aesthetic (model updates, skins, etc) changes that coincide with the purchase or new iteration of the game.
Ain’t nobody excited to pop their cooldowns to see this thing.

I didn’t say anyone didn’t want it.
Only that right this moment I imagine more people are focused on gameplay changes.
More people are willing to put up with cool down not looking great vs a class not playing well.
I am not saying don’t ask. I am not saying it shouldn’t be updated.
It was asked if we have given up. I am saying “no, but something big just happened with gameplay so that probably has people’s focus this second”

Personally I love ascendance. But I wish it coulc it just be multiple options. But seeing as how they butchered old travel form(i like the new one just would like both) we can’t just have more options.
Someone called it a burnt macaroni noodle in a post some weeks back, and that phrasing lives in my brain.
Keep talking about this! It’s technically classic content at this point given that Cata’s out, and it’s… more than overdue, for a lot of reasons. There’s a ton of glyph potential for this spell to make it desirable instead of ‘oh, gawd, I’ve got to take ascendance’. Fingers, tendrils, and hooves crossed that someone hears the noise.

The lightning build doesn’t use Ascendance or DRE. Will the lightning build be viable? Maybe. Will it be fun? Probably not.
