I’ve had an active sub for months and suddenly gives the message “Active game time is required in order to play World of Warcraft Classic (WOW51900331)”. The next payment date is on the 10th of May, so whats going on here?

Do you have multiple WOW accounts? After the update, for some unknown reason, my account switched from the one I have game time on to one I don’t.

This happened to me today as well.
Something must have been pushed through for this type of issue to keep cropping up.

Been happening to me often as well. On occasion, it even switches to an old European account.
