I generally avoid playing as elves, demon hunters, or death knights because of the fanbase. It’s not a grand consideration, but since there’s so many other options out there, its been the deciding factor when picking race/class a few times.
If only we had Sethrak, then I’d just always play them, regardless of whatever the fanbase says.
No really, alot of Alliance players really put me off Aliiance even though they are a faction I like. So I guess that is kind of similar.
Doesn’t really affect me too much as I play Horde simply because that’s where a lot of RL friends play. But I must admit all the “Horde bias” victimization threads make me think less of the faction as a whole
Yeah believe it or not I was alliance since launch more or less and only swapped after the allied races and mounts reveal. Way to turn off the casual fans who don’t care about horde racials.
Blood elves have anime hair, you You FOOL! You SIMPLETON! How can you play a blood elf without noticing their anime hair options! They got Cloud hair, Sephiroth hair, goku hair! It’s all there!
Not really. I avoid making BEs/VEs the best I can just to add divesity to the race pool even though I love BE lore. Has nothing to do with the players.
Not the fans per say but being a PvPer there’s a lot of pressure for me to play a “good” PvP race otherwise it becomes just another pain point for my partners when we lose.
So i’m kinda boned out of playing pretty much anything that isn’t Orc/Undead or Human/Night Elf when applicable, which sucks.
And before people say “this doesn’t actually happen”. It bloody does as its one of the reason i don’t play my Monk anymore (i really like the Pandaren Monks, other races not so much) or don’t really want to play a Shaman on Horde side (i HATE Orcs and the other “acceptable” option (Undead) isn’t available to them).
Really wish Blizzard would remove racials from rated stuff.
I think half of your problem is with the haters as much as the fans. I see far more complainers making Vulpera out to be “uwu pet me” furries than I do Vulpera fans acting that way.
Vulpera are awesome wasteland scavengers who fight and claw and take any path necessary for survival. As you said, they fit the Horde 200%. Work on building upon your own appreciation and learn to tune out people that emphasize aspects that you don’t like as much.
