How is the Hateforged Blazecycle sold out? How is it being sold by scalpers on eBay for absurd amounts of money?
This promo failed hard. Your players are getting scammed.
Just gonna jack this and post this here:
Oh joy… they may restock, and then we’ll have to fight scalpers for supply again.
This actually discourages me from buying enough product to try to get the item I want.
I’m pretty resigned to the fact that this is going to be another promo I’m going to miss out on due to legal BS.
I just hope this one doesn’t get held up in givaway legal limbo like the Horde Chopper, but I’m assuming we’ll never see it again after the scalpers sell out and laugh their way to the bank.
Why do the scalpers always win?
Or just be patient all good things come to those who wait grasshopper.
Because there cockroaches.
I feel like scalpers ruin so many things. Coulda sworn scalping was illegal. Must be one of those things you hear when you’re a kid like santa clause, or the toothfairy.
Not illegal but unethical blizzard doesnt win. No matter what.
Scalping is a big issue around the world, if all the people having fomo would just not fall for this it would be great.
But unfortunately the fomo crowd feel that if they can get something that is not available because of limited numbers of said item that if they throw enough money they will get the rare item/ concert tickets or whatever and be able to brag that they got something that everyone else missed out on.
So if you see something being scalped report it to the market place eBay etc that the item is being scalped. And do NOT by from scammers/scalpers.
It’s not an issue with scalpers but more of an availability issue on products. In my area alone, only 5-6 place carry 20z MT Dew drinks…if they can even get them in. Both Blizzard and Pepsico are at fault here as it was poor execution to begin with. Not even 2 weeks into the promo and this happens.
Blizzard has nothing to do with that. That is up to the stores in your area and what they buy. Blizzard can’t force stores to sell anything and Pepsico really can’t either. If stores aren’t carrying the product that is on them. Now some places are selling out, however that would be on Pepsico ONLY and has nothing to do with Blizzard. It also isn’t always something that Pepsico can control. Sometimes demand just out paces how much product a company can physically produce and deliver.
Also you have to factor in demand and delivery times not all stores are equal when it comes to market share etc. Big name stores tend to get more stock than mom and pop corner store or general store.
Whole thing is stupid… just to force people to buy their products for a mount they’ll use for 2 weeks and then forget about because it’s a ground one only. Then they had the 2 hour long event on one server to get one and people either couldn’t get in, couldn’t find the NPC to start the questline or just weren’t on during it…
And yet, by all accounts, the “stupid” promotion is working gangbusters. It certainly appears to be spiking the sales of the affected products, which is ultimately the only thing that matters.
I mean, that COULD be true but then why does Walgreens near me carry the game fuel soda ( I just found out this past Saturday) but the Walgreens down the street from my job doesn’t.
That would be a question for Walgreens.
However, this also goes back to that scalping issue. The codes being sold aren’t really an issue (real life code for real life money is unsupported, but allowed), but scalpers are buying out all the higher end items (like the 12-pack of Citrus Blackberry, which is worth the most points) and reselling for much higher.
I almost amazoned a case but decided on 3 20oz drinks. I only want the bike. lol
Just to add to this, vendors, ie Pepsico, are given limited space to market their products as they have to share with multiple other vendors and their products. I’ve heard the vendors complaining to store management that they just don’t have the room to market the way the Pepsi company wants because there just isn’t the shelf space.
It’s just a bad situation. We had contacted family in Maine and asked them to buy the products and send us the codes here in Canada and they happily agreed. But they never saw any of the products on the shelves where they lived and it was over before any appeared.
Nothing is over. The promotion runs until January 31.
To play devil’s advocate here, if the mount doesn’t restock then it is over for lots of us as that was the whole reason tons of us wanted to do the promotion.
I purchased the amount of drinks needed to get the points for the mount late last week, but because I didn’t drink the four sodas in the two days I had them after purchasing, I missed out. No where on the promo did it say the item was limited. I now have 700 points that I will not use, and Pepsi has my money.
It’s a very crappy and very ill communicated promotion honestly. Makes me weary of future promos of this sort and I’m usually all for them.
