As a fan of rpg games, I’m used to stories. My last expansion that I consider okay was MoP. It had an okay story. I get that Shadowlands is about the afterlife but these characters lack any personality. The winter queen has no personality. It just seems like a soulless abomination of a game. I’m honestly more excited to play Diablo 3 right now. I just realized I’ve been tormenting myself by playing WoW. The class design sucks, there hasn’t been anything new since Legion as far as abilities go. I feel weaker than I did in MoP. I would take the time to write a more detailed post but in summary, what a hot mess. I’ll be quitting WoW because it’s no longer worth my time if the story sucks. Also, for me to say Diablo 3 makes me more excited than WoW is huge because I hated Diablo 3’s story and I felt like it butchered the series. I didn’t realize I was making excuses for bad games this whole time. Sayonara WoW.
You’re welcome to your opinion, but I don’t agree. It sounds like WoW just isn’t the game for you.
Not getting a new ability at max level is bad. You ding and… nothing? You get to start WQs? We complained about this before… 
Now that my ilevel is back in the toilet, I am feeling weaker too. For a little while, I could ACTUALLY kill things as a bear without wanting to fling myself off the nearest cliff. It was nice. Not a chance I’m going to feel that level of delight with my squadron of terrible alts though lol
I feel like it had a lot of heart up until Cata hit, it’s been very hit or miss since then, MoP was probably the only high-ish point we’ve had since WOTLK ended.
anyone else remember the wailing and screaming when MoP hit about how the game had lost its soul? Freakin GD I tell you…
I understand your frustration. You’re not into dungeons or PvP, the main core of the game. You would be bored. You must be in a wrong game.

lemme just make a quick run over to the atm machine so i can withdraw money to buy this rpg game so i can become the dps per second my team needs.
Truth is, MMOs are just a different kind of game. IT was one of the few ways at one point to talk to multiple people all day and all night online while gaming.
Now every game is online and theres people to talk to via internet literally everywhere. Theres no “magic” in the mmo market anymore. You either like the gameplay or you dont.
I do agree that the lack of new traits is just freaking stupid. FF14 gets hit for having no skill or trait trees but wow has had the same ones forever and a lot of specs just lock into one forever. It needs a major revamp and not just borrowed power every 2 years that we lose at the end
Yea 2 weeks into an expansion and they don’t have the entire history of every character available yet

No. I still have my Felfire soul stone. Greater FelFire Soul stone and my Magic Soulstone.
Cant use them, but still have them. So, still has some soul left.
They started to hate their player base at around the time of WOD

I don’t think shadowlands is “soulless” but someone did make a post in here a few nights ago about how there’s more soul in zones like west fall than in any of the new shadowlands zones.
And while they are very well done - and gorgeous I can’t help but agree. As much as I want to defend shadowlands in that aspect he’s right. It feels like these zones are just big daily quest hubs 
I think if they had more time to put into an expansion it wouldn’t be the case though.

Because the game had lead them to log out and onto the forum to share their feelings.
If they were enjoying the game they’d be logged in playing it.
