I’ve stopped boosting completely in Shadowlands and the crafting systems and AH is a lucrative alternative for large amounts of gold making but the amount of advantage you can gain from the addons automation just seems broken or sadly necessary if you want to be able to compete on a Med/High pop server.
Simple answer: It Always has been.
Bot-lite.
What does this mean to you? We have no idea what the “market value” of any item is, given the collusion of sellers to drive up prices.
The actual market value in the real world in the price that people are willing to pay, not some dream price that a seller will hang onto an item for years in hopes of getting.
I saw a pattern on sale on the AH on a small server not long ago for 3.5 million gold. It had been discontinued many years ago…AND HAS BEEN AVAILABLE AT THE TRAINER EVER SINCE!
What they need to do is get rid of the bid/cancel scam so many sellers use, putting items up and putting fake bids on them at slightly less than asking price to make it look like the item is in demand. It’s not, and the seller will cancel (probably a programmable feature on those AH addons) before it expires.
Once there are bids on an item, the listing should be non-cancelable.
I have found that listing something at 25% of the uniform asking price all other sellers have it listed for often means it still comes back unsold.
It does take some getting used to. I tried it and after a week I hated it and uninstalled. Then a while later someone was explaining to me all you could tweak and I tried it again. Probably took me 2 months of periodic tweaking to get it how I liked it, but now any time I set it up it takes 5 minutes because I know how I like everything set up.
I don’t use it for everything though. Like I prefer KUI nameplates so I disable ElvUI default ones. And I disable some of the Pet Battle UI because I use addons that don’t play well with it. Most stuff though is run through it and makes everything smooth and uniform.
Sometimes I forget bidding is an option. Ain’t nobody got time for that.
TSM is basically botting, so yes.
(So is Rematch for pet battles, btw.)
As a seller or a buyer?
Nobody’s bidding 2% under the asking price on those items but the seller on his other account, to make it appear that the item is in demand at that price. We can view those bids.
i’m trying to work out how to get details to work too. i don’t have either installed atm but i’m being lazy. i wonder if there’s any tutorials anywhere that show you what to do. i don’t want my wife to have to sit down and hold my hand like a baby.
I hate the fact that some really useful addons are so complicated I can’t even begin to figure them out. “Fully customizable” means nothing if no instructions are given.
do you use TSM tewa?
weakauras is something i will mess with WAY down the line. i’ve looked at the “strings” or whatever they’re called and i have no idea at all how to get that stuff to work.
If you ever have a thought that starts with this, the answer is yes. lol Youtube is the best website ever created for free information.
Nope, don’t use Rematch either.
Gasp
I agree with this
Hard to define. I tend to trust TSM’s region-specific figure for SL goodies.
Right? I think I might be the only pet battling enthusiast who doesn’t.
Maybe if there wasn’t a widely-used botting program for pet battles though, more people would complain about how awful they are and Blizzard might do something about it.
I like collecting pets, but I loathe pet battles. They’re 5% doing something and 95% sitting there during animations. Which is why so many people just bot it.
No.
Buy some paragraphs
don’t use Rematch
This is one of my favorites. Even though on this account I’ve been hoarding pet charms by using level 1 pets so I don’t bother saving them since I change them out so much.
Once I have a big enough stash to level a few dozen prime pets I’ll put it back to use though.
They’re 5% doing something and 95% sitting there during animations.
This is annoying though. Same issue with watching the command table battles. When each and every unit takes half a second to attack, then spends 5 seconds buffing itself or everyone else.
Some animations are too long for sure.
I wish there were an addon that would tell me jokes from a huge joke bank while I was waiting on pet battle animations!
