Has the Guild Bank problem resolved?

“The issue” you cited as fixed was referring to items going missing in the first place. “It is safe to use the bank” make that obvious.

I guess this is as close to an answer as I’m going to get.

First of all, it is, it’s just that there isn’t always going to be items recoverable is the key takeaway in all of this that seemingly being overlooked. The issue folks seemingly to assume is that there is going to be any items sent to them. The issue is being not being able to recover said data and in some cases no data was saved. Not every guild would be getting any items, some of them would be getting zero items. That’s kind of the thing seem to be not seeing.

There isn’t any warehouse in some place that storing everything the game makes on the daily base just in case something goes sideways. A given player makes a lot of data on a given day, let alone something that change on the daily by an active guild. No MMO in the world has old data that’s backed up on the daily, ‘just in case’.

The main issue with some folks is thinking that Blizzard has a button or wand they push to fix this. There isn’t. If there was, it’d have been used by now. Sometimes, the answer is ‘we can’t help anymore’. Sometimes you have to take the lost and walk away from the table. Trying to keep push for something when the answer was already given won’t change the fact the data is gone.

I don’t mean to say that it’s final as it is right now (I’m not qualified to). I’m just saying that if items can’t be restored, unresolved is the final state, whenever that is/was.

I can appreciate the desire for closure. However, the blue post on the restorations is from a month ago. If it were me, I’d be starting to at least acknowledge that if the items haven’t come by now, they likely aren’t going to.

But you’ve been told by Bliz (and others here) that isn’t the case.

That is not the case either. Yes, data is backed up, but to a limit. It does not go back forever. Storage isn’t infinite. At some point, old data needs to be purged to make way for new data. Alternatively, it’s certainly possible that all the data was indeed backed up. However, its loss was part of the bug. Either way, it’s not available to use for restorations.

And they can be both, Veritable.

Oh we’ve moved on, filling the bank with current items. But the items aren’t the point for me.

The post on GD left open a door for hope. Some here intrepid that post differently, but it states in plain English, “mail will be sent to the GMs of affected guilds”. And I’ve repeatedly said neither of my guilds have received communication of any kind.

If you could kindly pass up the chain that if this issue will receive no further attention, post that decision in the post on GD.

Look, I know you guys hands are tied and can only report what you’re told. All I’m saying, what you’re being told isn’t enough in this instance.

Just to clear things up - anyone in blue text is a Blizzard worker, everyone else, regardless of text on the WoW forum (to my knowledge), is another player.

Right. I’m not an employee. MVPs are regular players that Bliz gives recognition to for being knowledgeable/helpful where they can.

Unfortunately, I’m not part of any internal chain.

It’s resolved, by their own statements and the only evidence we have. What restorations were able to be done have certainly gone out by now.

No, it isn’t fixed; not every broken thing can be ‘fixed’. But it is resolved. Maybe not to your satisfaction, but it’s absolutely resolved.

You can call it whatever you want. The label you choose to apply changes exactly nothing. Yeah, it sucks but that’s life, isn’t it?
