Ganeplay is quite different in action games.
Yes, it’s not literally an action game. I just meant it skews more that way than RPG in a lot of ways
It’s been that way for a while, though I personally think they are making efforts to bring it back but YMMV.
Oh yeah, but I think it’s unlikely they’ll have great success with the players so invested in what it has been. (Combined with their terrible tuning)
Locked covenants is a perfect example. Should have been meaningful but done poorly and this crowd won’t accept those kinds of limits on maximizing performance. (Regardless of if they’re even doing content where it matters)
That’s fair… I just don’t think we should completely give into them wanting to change what the game is. 
I am hoping Blizzard doesn’t muff up the talents based on whiney people.
At this point I think making it more RPG is a bigger change than going the other way, but it’d be nice if they’re actually put their foot down and make that move.
Probably, but that doesn’t mean we should sit idly by and let it happen without saying something.

More a player or players excluding others based off of class choice or playing preference.
Creating a distinction between players who min/max and player who don’t, hence elitism.
Idk why they cater to elitist players. They should be trying to gather in new players and casuals. Elitist players will exist no matter what.
Even if the game was 3 buttons, they’d exist just to tell everyone else they press those 3 buttons better than you can.

Im👏poss👏ible👏 to even get into a group anymore unless you have a 45000 score and a 789 item level! And then blizzard goes ahead and adds dungeon score!
All addons need to be deleted.
Us causals should be able to get the best gear from killing rares and collecting rep!!!
This game use to be all about the causal players!!! Sweat lord try hard no life elitists have ruined all the fun in WOW and blizzard does whatever they want all the time!!!

I suspect what you call “elitism” is players having standards for other players in difficult content.

We should ask Ion, the guy that’s been in charge of design for a while. After all, he used to lead a group called Elitists Jerks…
The problem with WoW is people apply unrealistic expectations, and get upset when it doesn’t work out. You wouldn’t walk into a BMW dealership and offer them $40 for a brand new M5, but I’ve had people whisper me furious because I wouldn’t invite their 226ilvl Hunter to a 16 key.
