Has any streamers been banned?

If they ban all those that actively and repeatedly exploited/cheated, and removed their goods from the AH, you’d have a lot less of max everything.

Are you even aware the recipes are rare drops? The quantity of those recipes has been inflated, unfairly, using exploits. Just because we will be buried in some sense of the word no matter what, does not mean we should be buried due to exploitation. HOW we lose the game matters. I want to lose the game to somebody who did it fairly.

Nobody is saying “its our job” to do anything. We’re not claiming to work at blizzard. We are consumers who are requested that a product be distributed in such a way that we find fit. We have that right.

And to say “Nor is it your job to inform on others unless asked to do so by an authority figure” is ethically incomprehensible. How would any authority know to request information if it was not reported in the first place? Your saying we have no duty to report illegality? Why would blizzard have a report button?

You act as if you speak for blizzard, yet blizzard WANTS us to report bugs and exploits in their game. It may not be our job, but it is our duty, and our right.

They knew raids are on a weekly reset. They should have just reported the bug. Don’t you find it odd that they were able to get a GM to actually communicate with them vs getting the form message everyone else gets?

I smell a shenanigan…

Not exploiting, Most players probably thought it was just part of how the game used to be, having 10 man dungeon groups you can farm exp with.

Honestly i’m sad i didn’t get to experience a 10 man raid of ZF for exp, that sounds cool.

I don’t act as if I speak for anyone. These threads are literally pointless. They do nothing and calling people out in them is petty at best. No evidence was ever provided except “ I saw the dude do it on stream”

It’s pretty easy for blizzard to see who exploited to excess and who didn’t just by seeing how much gold/gear an account has.

These threads are just witch hunts. This thread isn’t about exploiting, it’s a not so cleverly disguised thread about STREAMERS exploiting.

AFAIK naming and shaming isn’t allowed on these forums no?

So if you legitimately saw someone do something and feel the need to report it , these forums are NOT the venue you should be using.

For people who really dislike streamers, a lot of you seem to have their streams open 24/7.

To be honest with you, I think the case of the streamer looting molten core twice or whatever is incomparable to the amassing of gold, recipe, and rares from exploiting the instance layer bug.

The streamer is getting a lot of attention because he’s E-famous. My real concern is the countless number of guilds/groups exploiting daily on countless servers. I agree with part of what your saying.

he streamed private server content. they took his stream pass away. but gave it back eventually after he explained it was a mistake. now he just streams original blizzard content. i’m cool with esfand… he doesn’t do shady crap. others though…

Even when you provide evidence to these very forums, the posts get deleted, as targeting a player by name is againt the tos.

GG Blizz.

Nobody here is dispensing justice. They’re only taking the actions that can lead to justice.

It’s never a job, it’s the right thing to do.

This affects me and how I play, and especially the reason I prefer classic over what retail became: the feeling of achieving, of accomplishing something not handed to me in a loot pinata.
When someone else cheats and they get away with it, it diminishes the value of the accomplishments.

Mounts and lvl60 are two of these things that my enjoyment is directly affected by what others do, by their very nature their difficulty being lessened by cheating make my achievement of them worth less.

If Blizzard does not start being transparent about banning cheater/exploiters, banning abusers of exploits, and being proactive in protecting gameplay in classic then most of the reasons I subscribe go away.

When people cheat it affects everyone, even those who aren’t even playing but thinking of re-upping their subscription.

But the forums is not the venue to do that. All this does is create mass hysteria and doomsaying. It will only result in some people overreacting. Also possible loss of players/subs, which many of you posit is the exact reason you want this dealt with.

Report through official methods and keep this trash off the forums.

The forums are just a place for open discussion. As long as you’re not violating the vague and extremely inconsistently enforced CoC, you can discuss whatever you wish.

It’s perfectly understandable that people would want to know this (the topic) as regular Joe Blows would swiftly get banned for things but you have a recorded video of a “known” streamer doing it and they continue playing. Raising awareness of double standards helps to highlight incompetency.

I gotta disagree again… as someone who plays diablo 3 pretty heavily I’ve never once though botters had any effect on me. I’ve been in the top 300 for monks on most seasons on the leader boards without cheating. I’ve also enjoyed it quite thoroughly. Right now I’m playing vanilla and not once have I entered a dungeon, done a quest, or done literally anything else in vanilla where a “cheater” has effected my game play. While I think these people who cheat should receive their punishment I also know it’s not for me to decide their fate. I also don’t care that much because, as I stated before, it has no effect on how I play the game. I wasn’t arguing these people shouldn’t be banned or what not. I was arguing that y’all should stop crying about other people and just enjoy the game. Let blizzard do what they do.

I hope not. Streamers have brought a lot of attention to WoW classic even though it already had a big following. I think in the long run it’ll be better for the game.

This is a very good point. Here, have a donut. :doughnut:
