Harrassment

When i initially posted, i was coming from a space of frustration and anger, I type very fast and vented. So when i looked back on it, i realized it was a mess. So i cleaned it up.

Sounds like they are getting the witch hunt themselves.

I did not know that. That feature would help in getting the names to report and put on ignore after the situations happened.

None of the tracking referenced is impossible----for a Btag friend.

Even then. Being found out in the open world. Regularly. Would still be next to impossible. Just because of how finicky sharding is. And I have no reason to think the person is from a RP server.

Now combined that they stated they literally created a new btag.

Once in guild, quickjoin does the rest.

I won’t do that. That’s a violation of privacy.

Forum rules prohibit such call outs. Are you trying to get them a forum suspension?

While I get that, the person stated the changed servers, name changed, created a new battle net.

Op sounds like someone you are friends with is ratting you out. I bet its someone you have on Bnet that would be the only logical way to find you after changing everything. I don’t remember if removing someone from your Bnet friends list also removes you from theirs.

But if it does I would clear your list of everyone before you move. Dont add anyone you currently have back to your list ever and dont tell anyone what server your on or characters you play. Its hard it sucks but its better then being harassed constantly…

The best way to deal with this is to ignore the player. If they circumvent, you document and submit a ticket. It’s that simple.

Your only real option is to try to record their harassment, it’d be more useful if they’re messaging you during said harassment.

Provide evidence of their toxic behavior, and maybe they’ll be dealt with.

The main takeaway from this is just how pathetic and joyless some people are, that they dedicate this much of their time to trying to make others miserable. It’s EXTREMELY common on console games (I wonder why that is…)

Now, definitely. They didn’t know to do it all before and were taking the measures spottily (because they didn’t know how important the Batttlenet friends list was). Many helpful people have identified what steps if left undone will make any other steps completely worthless.

Actually they do fall off ignore.

This crazy woman has multiple accounts and transfers characters around. Since this permanently deletes the character and clones it on the other account with a different ID it falls off ignore. This is what Bliz told me last month after she was hanging out near me and I saw her talking, tipping me off that she wasn’t blocked anymore. I immediately reblocked her and my guildmates and I went elsewhere.

Unfortunately block doesn’t make it so she can’t see me talking. That Tumblrina was looking for something she could take out of context to cause a social media mob.

they’re not falling off ignore in the example you gave.
a person can have as many accounts as they want.

if the person is circumventing ignore by transferring, blizz can see.
…but they can’t do anything if they don’t know it’s happening.

When someone moves a character from one account to another they literally are removed from your ignore list. This is my definition of falling off the ignore list.

I usually put them back on ignore as soon as I realize they’ve fallen off the ignore list. I preempt the harassment. Therefore I don’t have a reason to contact blizzard because I’ve already put them on ignore before they’ve started problems. Blizzard isn’t going to act just because someone move to character and their system failed to keep it on ignore. They aren’t going to act just because someone’s avatar is physically near yours. They’re extremely weak on harassment.

Hell when I had people leave my guild back in Wrath I had people harassing me for 6 months. It got so bad that I stopped logging in. Finally after 6 months and putting all the people’s alts on ignore someone borrowed another person’s account to harass me and Blizzard gave them a 3 day ban. I know this because the person whose account was borrowed was a friend of mine and came to me and told me that he got a three-day ban because he let his girlfriend harass me on his account, not knowing that’s what she was going to do. knowing it was me that was the Target because she started swearing about me in voice chat.

TL;DR: You’re completely wrong about names falling off ignore. Stop spreading misinformation and gaslighting victims of harassment.

You are completely wrong and being argumentative just for the sake of being argumentative. I’m going to put you on my forum ignore list now. Shame it’s not permanent.

Bye Felicia.

it’s being removed, it’s not falling off.

it’s not disappearing from the ignore list for no reason, as was being implied.

again, if the person is doing this for harassment purposes, it’s a big no-no.
…but nothing can be done if it’s not reported.

aaand this is why an ignore feature on a forum is silly.

you want to stick your fingers in your ears, and get the last word in…

I know you’re going to read this, so prove yourself right.
I bet you can’t.
Show me an interaction between yourself and blizzard, where someone on your ignore list transferred for the purpose of harassing you, and blizz said they won’t do anything to help.

i w8.

yaaaaaay and the original topic of the thread falls by the wayside…

What are they doing to you specifically?
Are you sure that it’s the same people?
Do you have a history of mental illness?
Your post comes across to me as being a little bit paranoid. I’m not trying to sound like a jerk or anything but what you’re describing is far from normal.
If someone is really stalking you through a game that is really weird and potentially dangerous.

What need have you to know any of this? Are you going to wave a magic wand and make it all go away if only you get all the juicy gossip first?
