Same as of 5/29/23. I submitted a bug report and a ticket. Got an extremely unresponsive auto response for the ticket.

Posting here to add the same thing. Quest is bugged, no progress bar has appeared. I’ve tried the same things others have mentioned here. Relogging, reloading, dropping quest, leaving area, etc. Hopefully it’s fixed soon, considering that this is one of the main class quests in Legion.

Update:

I got a more helpful reply after I replied that the first answer was less than helpful. Here are the steps I was given and it worked:

  1. Completely exit World of Warcraft.
  2. Uninstall any addon managers to make sure they don’t re-add your removed addons.
  3. In the Blizzard Battle.net desktop application, click Options (the cogwheel next to Play button) and select Show in Explorer (WindowsÂź) or Reveal in Finder (MacÂź).
  4. Open the World of WarcraftÂź folder.
  5. Open the folder for the game version you’re troubleshooting (retail, classic_era, or classic)
  6. Rename the Cache, Interface, and WTF folders to CacheOld, InterfaceOld, and WTFOld.
  7. Re-launch World of Warcraft so the changes can take effect.

Then, once I finished the quest chain to get the weapon, I just copied my all my addons from the Addon folder in ‘InterfaceOld’ to the Addon folder in ‘Interface’ and enabled them all again and continued along my merry way.

Can confirm that this worked. It’s a pain having to setup my addons again, but at least I’m not stuck anymore. Thanks for sharing this workaround.

I just entered the game without doing nothing different, and the bar suddenly appeared, and i finished this quest and the chain itself. Maybe they fixed something

Can confirm this. Tried again today and the quest is working. I didn’t delete any folders or changed any addons.

I forgot to come back and say this was fixed for me. It’s working now.
