Hardware ban When?

Your hardware checksums are not your IP address.

no one’s defending bots.

pointing out that we don’t want to farm, that mac addresses can be spoofed, that giving players the ability to throw a captcha at another player on a whim is a dumb idea isn’t defending bots.

Blizzard is too lax. they always have been. they allow botters to bot for months until the next “ban wave”

but none of the suggestions posted here would change that. Blizz has to change their policy on how they handle bots.

Fine audit me. I am not supporting botting in any fashion.

I don’t believe this should be an activity in game, much like some of you believe multi boxing (NOT batting) doesn’t belong in the game. I don’t like the people who do it and I have seen their greed hurt players who were just having fun doing their own thing.

Things like mutliboding are MMORPG version of Baldur’s Gate where you control an entire party. You can even try to solo dungeons with different makeups. I didn’t multi box much in WoW but I did try it. I did do it in EQ because you needed a group to level.

Watching the AH robber barons destroy that play style for their own selfie reasons is enough for me to argue with their little power grabs any time this topic comes up.

According to who? Because the only thing prohibited is software level keystroke repeating software.

Yep, multiboxing is allowed. The ONLY thing that was banned was keystroke multicasting software.

It did depend on your class thou… Necros and Beastlords were powerhouses for solo leveling. Druids were good to for the ability to multikite. Everything else… yeah… was a nightmare to solo.

thats like your opinion , playing the AH is fun for a lot of people and saying that cheap mats is healthy for all is dumb , because 1 herb that is worth 100 g is also an herb you can be sold for 100 g.
with the introduction of several money sinks like 500 k mounts 2 million mounts and lately the 5 million mount , not wanting to have a healthy economy where everyone has a chance to get these mounts without blowing hundreds of dollars in tokens should be a community goal.

but then we got people like you that somehow i believe just come to forums to troll or argue for the sake of arguing you give shame to the horde and the taurens.

It’s almost like…

Making life harder for legitimate multiboxers who just like to do multiplayer content solo didn’t magically solve all of the problems of the game.

It’s almost like botters use bot software to fully automate their gameplay despite it being against the TOS, software that’s separate from key passthrough software.

It’s almost like actual botters don’t care about cheating or following the rules or even getting banned, because their accounts are disposable or stolen.

It’s almost like turning multiboxers into scapegoats for the actions of botters didn’t fix anything, at all.

Nope is right. What you just said has nothing to do with it

multiboxing is toxic for the economy as well , i can see why people did it on every single expansion i got a computer that could run prob 10 clients at the same time and exploit tons of farms like most folk did or still do without getting banned, but blizzard realized its toxic and now its outlawed , hardware multiboxing is a joke you still use software to send instructions to other clients , semantics work both ways.

So how often every hour would you be willing to complete that captcha? Every five minutes, every ten?

You do realize that you yourself would be subject to that requirement and it would need to be done on a constant basis since anyone can log on and then start the bot running.

How about Blizz start auditing folks like you who are crying because AH prices are dropping and you are claiming it is because of bots. It could actually be because you want a means of stopping your completion because you want to price gouge on the AH so you have loads of gold to sell for cash.

Oh! You didn’t realize that ploy could work both ways now did you?

And yes playing 5 characters at once is fun for a lot of people as well. Do you argue in support of multi boxing? Including with something like ISBOXER?

DO you come to the forums to scream about multi boxing just to troll? Does everyone else? Notice I said Multiboxing and NOT Botting.

BTW - I don’t care about the Horde. It’s been dead since Thrall left it. We had hope with Vol’Jin but that dies real fast. I am Shu’Halo. Tauren Warriors would never stoop so low as to argue over trivial things like gold. Leave that to the goblins, that’s their thing

I tried the Necro fear kite and wasn’t my thing. I liked root rot on my shaman better

By the time Beastlords came out, I was kinda pulling away. I liked the original big dumb uglies and their model revamp sucked. I still use the originals when I go back today.

You know, everyone tried to sell me on that quad kiting and dotting and running in circles for 5 minutes again wasn’t fun for me.

Maybe it’s because I was in my 30s when that came out and I just wasn’t willing to do those play styles.

why would they if bots are buying accounts and probably character boosts

All the cool games are doing it now

Ban by hardware id (hard disk serial, etc.)

Basically people would have to buy a new motherboard or hard drive to bypass each ban. Makes the barrier to re-entry more costly.

Granted, most games that do this have pretty beefy anticheat which also detects when people use HWID spoofers, not sure if warden is cut out for that.

Do you realize how hard it would be to run a bot with nothing but hardware?

already banned

Prices on my server on leather is right but with herb not so.I don’t see the point, when it’s 75g per azshara veil the botters are not the problem it is the consumer.

Kernel level anti cheat when blizzard

If I see more than 1 druid doing the same actions I report them.

Ive had a few responses from blizz saying that action was taken.
