Harder and harder to justify paying for WoW

As a fire mage main. I have buffs that i need to track while watching my screen.

I use weak auras to track my timers. Blizzard ui isnt customizable to the level i need it to be.

And i want my damage numbers to look fun and amazing. The default damage numbers look boring, so i use a scrolling combat text addon.

I want my ui to look clean, and fun. Blizzard ui isnt there yet and i dont believe it will ever be.

Frankly, as the years go by, it’s harder and harder to justify paying for The McRib.
It’s not like The McRib is cheap; yet the quality of the riblet, the quality of the pickles is just bad. The quality of the slivered onions is just disrespectful; from the sauce, to the bun, to the container provided.

The new McRib is bad. You had a recipe you could follow. People have been slaving away in the kitchen. You know why people like extra sauce, extra meat, extra onion, etc…Yet, you barely address any of this with the new McRib. Really, you have the same exact McRib elements, they are just inedible now. The main reason people bring BBQ sauce from home, is that your McRib simply fails at having sauce.

The information provided by the McDonald’s website is all over place and poorly accessible. A clear example are McFlurries: oreos, M&Ms, Heath chunks, etc… You put those in the McFlurry machine, which has a bazillion mechanical parts. In addition to having never been cleaned; we don’t know how and we don’t pay anyone enough to learn. Why not have all sandwiches be available all year long? People can then decide what to eat based on what is shown on the menu. There are many other examples of poor sandwich design that can be remedied by simple solutions.

McDonald’s uses cheese for aesthetics and to control the real estate of the patty. Why are you preventing people from ordering American Cheese on their McRib Glizzy? I use deli deluxe when I get The McRib home, I don’t need that old waxy American they put on McDoubles. But why can’t they offer it with cheese anyway? Why do I need to bring my own cheese to a restaurant that has their own cheese?

You need to do better. It’s shameful that you rely on nostalgia to provide a basic flavor for this cheap monstrosity you have the audacity to call The McRib. Really, just basic edible stuff would be enough to eliminate the need for supplemental trips to Burger King.

Yeah, I can’t say that I know anybody who abstains from addons entirely. :dracthyr_love_animated:

I don’t use add-ons at all. I’m very militant about it, in fact.

are you good, though?

Is DBM a UI addon?

Its 15 dollars. Thats a big meal at mcdonalds. Calm down

That hit me kinda hard, reading that. Spent almost $37 for 3 orders of hotcakes and patties, with hashbrowns and OJ. I just kept my card in my wallet and walked away. Chocolate milk and Count Chocula for the fam.

Don’t know that weak auras and stuff like DBM are UI failures. You can level a bunch of criticism at Blizz, but not designing their UI to flash colors to tell you that you have a debuff or to run away from bad stuff is not one of them.

I feel ya. Got soap and deodorant today. 30 bucks…

Then don’t play, it’s simple. Wtf make a post about it. Just quit

feel like wow mgmt and progression devs are like the movie gladiator “Are you not entertained!” in disgust as they hold us all slaves to their intentional manipulation design and get irked by the negative feedback

What makes no sense is that you are still around. I can’t imagine playing a game if I was unhappy with it “as the years go by”. But no fear, you are one of many people who just love to hate the video game that they are playing. No one can explain why.

super not relevant, just trying to bait away from OP’s several solid points.

Are you arguing that WoW isn’t AAA and shouldn’t be held to those standards? Because if so…

My commentary was aimed at a free-to-play vs. subscription based monetization models.

AAA gaming companies and their customers can have whatever standards they want. WoW’s standards have seemed sufficient to stay afloat thus far, even if many have boomeranged away from the game from time to time.

Another of those long post saying nothing new.

If you don’t have fun, don’t think it’s worth your money, then just stop paying for a service you aren’t happy with.

It’s not like someone in the blizzard office will read your post and be like : omg, that’s what is wrong with our game, let’s do everything he says, specially when your main issue is the UI that can be solved by Addons, which most other mmo don’t support as openly.

I don’t agree with everything you said but I will say this. The only person’s perspective that matters for your investment in spare time and money into a hobby is yours.

If you don’t think it’s a good return then absolutely it makes sense to say “I’m done”.

I’m almost at that point with WoW but not quite. I had a lot of fun in beta with evokers and dragon riding so I’m gonna see how DF shakes out for me.

Tbh the fact that’s it’s the same price from 15 years ago is impressive

Then don’t pay for it. It’s a real easy decision, however, you’re making it out to be like choosing which doctor to get your terminal disease treated.

Naw. Many players don’t use these addons. I don’t think they wanted to overwhelm people right out ofcthe gate! I’m sure it’s just a first step to get people adapted. Besides, if I wanted all that crap Id get it. You still can
