Really frustrating when Blizzard’s incompetence causes skilled players to lose hundreds of hours. I guess the only way to avoid it is to cancel one’s subscription.

To add more information, the server lost at least six level 60s that were active raiders. I’m sure more characters were lost at no fault of their own.
so frustrating, not the first time either.
I was there, on my level 20 paladin in westfall, and felt the earthquake. My client crashed, I launched a new instance, logged in, and the deathlog was going off with 60s dying in ZG!

It pains me to watch this happen yet again this time on DP. These crashes happened on SR twice last month too. I posted on Tech Support about this problem, with it happening to you too I ask you to post about tonight’s crash on my thread (or make a new one and link it, I’ll post there too to bring attention to this issue.)

Agree, this can’t keep happening, it takes the bare minimum effort to fix, and has been done in the past. Why they refuse now I cannot understand.

We have investigated and it looks like its someone who is dying on the hardcore servers with a name that messes up Blizzard’s spaghetti code causing anyone who has the half-baked hardcore death logs option enabled to DC.
Thanks for messing up a game with something we did not ask for.
Not in the contract.
Condolences regarding the deceased however.
Hope that folk will go agane but understand that may be too much to ask.

Just want to contribute that the memory dumps off a couple players from the Skull Rock crashes also contain fatigue deaths.
First and foremost, sorry for the losses.
Are SoD updates announced anywhere?
If yes could we make some kind of ingame warning system, in the style of Buff “warnings” so that we could all olog out, or be somewhere safe on future upgrades of other versions of WoW … when Blizz wont’ warn or take responsibility we ought to do so ourselves! l

I have a level 60 character that has become self aware. This disconnect happened and my character soloed ZG on his own. When i logged back in his bags were filled with loot.
Nice what did your AI version get?
There are lots of streams documenting the server crash at 10:50 ST. Would love to see any response from blizz regarding this.

pls blizzard I know I’m not getting my toon back but before this happens to an entire raid team in the future please orient some kind of failsafe.

The community developed addons and weakauras to effectively disable the poor implementation and homegrown “hardcore alerts”. Hopefully this causes the issue to impact less people. But seriously guys, do some QA. I’ll gladly do it for free. Also, we want to test hypotheses and behaviors but Era PTR is down? hello?
Please bring Era (and HC) PTR back with all raids enabled. Please. We have felt test in production. It is time we test in test.

At least this spaghetti code we think we were able to fix with an addon.
Can you make the client open source already so we can fix the poop code ourselves instead of having to rely on bandaid solutions?
Stop adding untested features on hc servers ffs. The game is 20 year old. You had ONE job: disable rez - THATS IT
